Ellie Garcia and Marcia Flowers whocoordinated everything, including ourfabulous refreshments. Thanks also toCarol Reardon and her Receivingcommittee; Lydia Hill-Moore and herJudging committee; Jeanne Shanahan andher Placement committee; JerryPennington and Bill Riedell, whocoordinated hanging everything includingthe gallery cards; Mike Reardon, who wasin charge of lighting; Docents/SittersCoordinator Lorraine Dawson; Barbaraand Al Ollivares, who made sure everyonewas served properly at our open bar duringthe reception; Peg Klinger, who publicizedthe event; Don Klinger, who encouragednon-member entrants to join FAA; PattyMangels, who prepared the data entry,program and gallery cards; and DonHambric, who photographed the event andall the winners with their awards andwinning pieces. And special thanks to allof you who sat the gallery and greetedvisitors during the show.
The quality of the art was so high thatnoone would ever have guessed that thisshow included all entered works! Ourjudge, Lyndelle Stonick, spent
considerable time explaining her choicesfor awards to the judging committee as shecritiqued every piece. Most of thosecomments were recorded on index cardsfor the individual artists. Lyndelle alsogave a superb critique and demonstrationat our meeting, followed by a workshopthe following Sunday. Attendees werethrilled with how much they learned fromher.
It’s hard to believe 2011 is just aroundthe corner! But before it arrives, we stillhave one more opportunity to applaud theefforts of all of you who made 2010 a veryspecial year for Fallbrook Art Association.
Be sure to attend our HolidayCelebration Party Monday, December13th. Betty Hyde and her committee havebeen busy preparing everything for us toenjoy the evening, with a live band andbeautiful decorations and display tablesfor your scrumptious food. Please let herknow if you’d be willing to help with thecleanup afterwards.
You can check to see what kind of dishto bring, according to the first letter of yourlast name, by checking the alphabetizedlist elsewhere in this newsletter. FAA willprovide the beverages and all the tableservice, as usual, and if you’d like, pleasebring an unwrapped art-related gift for anyage child which will be donated to needyfamilies in the area.

President's Message December, 2010 December MeetingDecember 13, 2010, 7pm
Please be sure to mark your calendarand attend our annual Holiday CelebrationParty at the FPUD, 990 E. Mission,Monday, December 13th. Check the listbelow, using the first letter of your lastname, to determine which dish to bring. (Itshould serve approximately 8-10 people.)
Betty Hyde and her committee will bedecorating the room, starting at 4 PM andyou should plan to set your dish on theappropriate table at 5:30 so we can starteating at 6.
A professional band will entertain usfrom 6 'til 7, take a break to eat and visitwith everyone, then resume playing at7:30. Although not mandatory, we wouldappreciate an R.S.V.P, to Betty so she canhave an idea of the number of tables todecorate.

Fallbrook LibraryCall for Artists
The new Fallbrook Library opening inJanuary 2011 will have an art-themedfocus with many original commissionedpermanent pieces of art and is expected tobe the “cultural center” of Fallbrook. Inaddition to the permanent collection,artists have the opportunity to submit theirwork for a visiting collection.
The Friends of the Fallbrook Library(FOFL) website contains additionalinformation about the program and can beused to upload samples of your work. Ifyour art is chosen it will be displayed forapproximately 6 weeks. There are norequired fees, donations, or otherobligations for hanging art in the FallbrookLibrary. This visiting collection shouldnot be considered as a sales venue and noprice cards will accompany the descriptionof each piece, but artists may have anInformation Page handout at the front deskfor patrons who wish additionalinformation.
All media are accepted. Submitted artsamples will be archived for review for allfuture shows. The first show will be aphotography show and the theme will be“My Fallbrook.” Everyone, professionaland amateur, is encouraged to submitsamples of their photography. The show isexpected to be up for the Gala Openingcelebration on January 15, 2011.

Holiday Party
Please come celebrate with us at ourannual Holiday Party Monday, December13th. It will be held at the Fallbrook PUD,990 E. Mission. We’ll have a live band foryour listening and dancing enjoyment. It’spotluck, so bring a dish, according to thelist that is on page 4. Setup for the band andfor arranging all the food will be from 5:30to 6:00 PM so we can begin our programpromptly at 6. To help make the season alittle brighter for some needy families inFallbrook and Camp Pendleton, pleaseconsider bringing an unwrapped gift for achild of any age, preferably one that’sart-related."

Diners will be able to view your workon display in the restaurant.
