“Dalida, a wardrobe that goes from the city to the stage”

Taking inspirations from Paris to Beirut, naturally, when she thought about designing the Fall/Winter 2018 collection, the fourth collection of her eponymous label; Hanane drew inspirations from her favorite musical superstar: Dalida. This collection reflects on the glamour and eclectic style of the legendary icon. Staying true the spirit of the muse and her brand, she dwells in the artistic universe of how she would like to dress the “Hanane Hotait” woman.

In continuation of working with silk, taffetas and cotton poplin, the designer decided to incorporate velvet and sweatshirt fabrication to juxtapose feminine lustrous fabrics. We see an evolution of how Hanane dares to break the sartorial codes, even her own. The Signature Mia blouses acquire eccentric hues in different ranges.

There is a radiant use of leopard prints and cashmere print aiming to adorn the new independent woman of today. The collection caters to a diverse range of personalities, with sublime blouses in blush for the discreet to bold palazzo pants that make us reminisce about the 70s. Another specialty of the winter wardrobe that makes our hearts linger on for more: the dazzling sweatshirts.

When asked what the Hanane Hotait woman desires to do next winter, the designer simply answers: “Laissez Moi Danser!”

Hanane Hotait intègre à la fin de ses études les studios new-yorkais de 3.1 Phillip Lim et de Marchesa, studios dans lesquels elle apprend la rigueur et les codes de la couture.

À la suite de son année passée à New York, elle rentre à Paris en 2016 et décide de créer sa marque éponyme destinée aux femmes dont on remarque l’élégance. Originaire du Liban et ayant vécu la majeure partie de sa vie à Paris, elle fait de sa double appartenance culturelle son point fort. La garde-robe est raffinée, intemporelle et moderne. Les codes de la marque reprennent ceux de la parisienne et de la femme orientale qui savent comment être sensuelle et glamour avec une touche de couture. C’est la combinaison de ces deux femmes qui définit l’approche unique d’Hanane. Elle fait de la chemise son produit phare et elle la décline au fil des saisons.

La marque collabore avec des fournisseurs et des fabricants européens pour assurer une qualité irréprochable et haut de gamme. Les collections sont conçues à Paris et produites par des petits ateliers qui respectent le savoir-faire. Les produits sont vendus principalement en France, en Russie, en Chine et dans la région du Moyen-Orient.

Soon after her graduation Hanane Hotait joined the design studio of 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Marchesa in New York, which taught her ready-to-wear thoroughness, and fashion standards.

After a year in New York, she returned to Paris in 2016 and started her own eponymous label, influenced by her Lebanese heritage with the style and sensual beauty of Paris, where she grew up. The designs accentuate femininity while still remaining contemporary and timeless. French women have always inspired her, how they incorporate menswear into their wardrobe, especially men’s shirts. The Oriental side of the collection adds sensuality and mystery to the glamour and nonchalance of French women’s sophisticated style and attitude. It is the combination of these two women that has defined Hanane’s unique approach. Playfully re-inventing the classic shirt, the collections have now grown to include dresses, skirts and tops, yet always keeping the brand’s DNA at heart.

The brand collaborates with European suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high end, irreproachable quality. The collections are designed in Paris and produced by small ateliers and dressmaking factories, that respect traditional know-how and experience. The products are mainly sold in France, Russia, China and the Middle East region.
