Equipment Inspector Certification
Per ANSI Updated training must be conducted every 2 years
This certification use to be known as Competent Inspector Certification. Same content, but different tittle. !ANSI Z359.2 3.3.4.5 Competent person update training shall be conducted at least every two years to stay current with the fall protection and rescue education industry requirements or when new fall protection systems are used or installed or new fall hazards are encountered. !The Equipment Inspector course is designed for the professional user or supervisor charged with establishing an inspection program and/or conducting inspection of fall protection equipment. The student will be guided through Capital Safety, OSHA, ANSI and CSA inspection criteria on body harnesses, lanyards, connectors, and anchorage devices. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met requirements to manage a fall protection equipment inspection program.
WHAT’S INCLUDED Fall Protection 101
!Topics will include: !
• How to properly wear and adjust harnesses
• Proper use of lanyards and self-retracting lifelines.
• Anchor Point requirements • Overview of the changes with ANSI/
OSHA standards.
Effective Techniques in Rescue !
This class will concentrate on methods of rescue that do not put the rescuer at risk. Attendees will be shown several different methods of safe rescue and will have an opportunity to use the equipment. This class will be taught by an expert in rescue from Capital Safety. OSHA recommends rescue be completed within twenty minutes. The techniques discussed and taught will allow the attendee to learn how to achieve this objective. !
Ladder Safety 101 & Ladder Inspection
Certification !
There are 3 major causes of Ladder Accidents: !1. Strains & Sprains 2. Using the wrong ladder for the job 3. Fall due to overreaching !This session will provide solutions to the most common ladder accidents. OSHA Ladder Standards will be reviewed. You will also learn how to properly inspect your ladder and receive a certification.
