Making sense of the necessity of salvation in Jesus Christ

First:

The Word of God

The Word of God• Creates what He speaks

•Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light.

And there was light.

•Psalm 33:6 By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the

breath of His mouth. •Psalm 33:8,9 Let all the earth fear Jehovah; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For He spoke, and it was done ; He commanded, and it stood fast.

•John1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He* was in the beginning with God. All things received being through him, and without him not one thing received being which has received being.

•John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except any one be

born anew he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Why was the Word of God sent?

Why specifically did the WORD of God become flesh?

We know that God is Love and that God is Spirit. Why didn’t the Love become flesh? Why didn’t the Spirit become flesh?

Why the Word?

Gospel of John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Fall of Man

..was the introduction of the non-creating speech/speech of sin/anti-Christ as the sole speech of Man and the ignorance that made him think non-creating speech and its limitations was his natural condition and that non-creating speech was the sole speech of total reality

The Fall of Man

• The Speech of God was the only speech Adam and Eve had ever heard prior to the speech of the serpent.– God’s Word The Speech which created them– God’s Word The Speech which lived in them and spoke through

them• Gen 2:23,24 And Man said, This time it is bone of my bones

and flesh of my flesh: this shall be called Woman, because this was taken out of a man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

• That it was God who spoke through Adam concerning the prophecy of children and marriage when as yet there was no children is declared in:

Matthew 19:4,5 But he answering said to them , Have ye not read that He who made them , from the beginning made them male and female, and said, On account of this a man shall leave father and mother, and shall be united to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh?

The Fall of Man:Encounter I

• Man and Woman have never heard any other Speech than that Speech of God that created what He said

• Encounter with the serpent is first encounter with a different speech: a speech which can create nothing.– First non-certainty/question in the Holy Scriptures:

• Genesis 3:1 And the serpent was more crafty than any animal of the field which Jehovah Elohim had made. And it said to the woman, Is it even so, that God

has said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? – First exegesis/analysis of God’s Word as if God’s

Word did not create what He spoke and as if any other speech were the equivalent of God’s Speech (i.e. a different speech which implies it remains un-effected by God’s Word)

– Implication that there exists in total reality only one speech which all creatures and God speak equally

– (implying to Eve she has a freedom that she was formerly unaware of and has been brought to her attention by merely different words in the same speech as she had heard before…)

The Fall of Man:Encounter II

• Eve meets an entirely new speech she has never before heard– This speech is a different voice than Jesus

Christ, the Word of God– This speech implies that within it are things to

understand that cannot be understood by being spoken through by God’s Word• In order to speak, to understand this

speech and to mine it of its supposed treasures she must listen to a different voice than God: she must have independence from God if even for a moment.

The Fall of ManEncounter III

• Their existence in Eden to this point was one of exploring paradise and finding treasures within it.

• To Eve, who is already deceived, the speech/voice of the serpent is just one more treasure to be explored with the aid of the fruit. (…the fruit suddenly has usefulness…it holds no attraction if it cannot be used by her) The exploration OF this new speech WITH this new speech PLUS the knowledge of good and evil will empower her to investigate the paradise thoroughly in her own mind before the deed.

The Fall of ManEncounter IV

• A new and alien knowledge, an entirely different life and set of thoughts in a non-creating speech has made an appearance in her heart by the act of the serpents speech. A new existence called death is speaking to her that she knows nothing of.

• The serpents speech is a spirit that manipulates what is already created but actually creates nothing. It makes a tool for itself of the fruit through Eve, gaining entrance to her through speaking itself through the serpent.

– Genesis 3:4,5 And the serpent said to the woman, Ye will not certainly die; but God knows that in the day ye eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and ye will be as God, knowing good and evil.

• The serpents speech is a different existence as a different spirit, not merely a different point of view of the same life Eve was living in God. – Men since the fall and before the real, literal new

birth in Jesus Christ, know only that existence which at the time to Eve was new and unexplored. Men are now incredulous that any other life exists than what they are now and think (in the speech of sin) that a new life would really be the same old life with a different way to feel about it…

• Sin actually exists and has killed men spiritually in the fall

The Fall of Man:Pre-destination

• God has spoken in His speech which creates to establish the fall:– Gen 2:16,17 And Jehovah Elohim commanded

Man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou shalt freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou eatest of it thou shalt certainly die.

– God does not say “if you eat of the tree…” but “in the day that thou eatest…”. God creates dis-obedience to His own Word for His own purposes.

• God creates the fall of man by His act of His Speech

– In the new creation in Jesus Christ, man is blessed far beyond his original state before the fall

– In the new creation in Christ man’s knowledge of good and evil is not from the fruit of the tree but of God. It is no part of the dis-obedience or curse:

• Gen 3:22 And Jehovah Elohim said, Behold, Man is become as one of us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he stretch out his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever...!

God did not eat of the tree, yet has the knowledge of good and evil.

• 1John 4:17,18 Herein has love been perfected with us that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, that even as He is, we also are in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has torment, and he that fears has not been made perfect in love.

The Fall of ManEncounter IV

• The fruit appears to be the solution to the new enigma presented by the serpent: doubt. (God said one thing, the serpent directly contradicts what God said. To Eve, there is only one speech spoken and two different and equal speakers of it have both directed that supposed sole speech at her. She must supposedly sort out what is the truth herself …– The fact of God’s having spoken first is used by the speech of the

serpent to manipulate a mix of strange emotions in Eve… As she sees no distinction between the two speaks, God’s having

spoken first has no emotional value within the speech of the serpent. Because it is supposedly the same speech, God’s having spoken the supposed one speechfirst is inconsequential to her…

The Fall of ManEncounter V

• Before the encounter there was no doubt; only certainty and creation. It seems to her that if she eats she will know who is telling the truth: the Word of God or this new speech which she doesn’t recognize as different than God’s Word but which seems to promise an emotional banquet not to be had within the confines of what she will only later understand as obedience.

• The serpent’s lying spirit has manipulated a desire to overcome doubt that he himself has spoken in order to make her dis-obey the Word of God. She desires to be rid of the doubt as that manipulation. The fruit is presented to her for just such a purpose now and she must dis-obey simply to prove she actually has the freedom the serpent has implied no matter what happens

• Eve eats the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The Fall of ManWords of Different Spirits…

• Eve does not know that words are spirit– 1Kings 22:21,22 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before

Jehovah, and said, I will entice him. And Jehovah said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and will be A (single) lying spirit in the mouth of ALL his prophets. And He said, Thou shalt entice him , and also succeed: go forth, and do so.

• A different spirit than the spirit she had has entered her through the act of speech– 2 Corinthians 11:3,4 But I fear lest by any means, as the

serpent deceived Eve by his craft, so your thoughts should be corrupted from simplicity as to the Christ. For if indeed he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or ye get a different Spirit, which ye have not got, or a different glad tidings, which ye have not received, ye might well bear with it .

The Fall of ManBone of His Bone

• Eve has been deceived, has eaten the fruit and is already fallen.

• She brings the fruit to her husband having not died. (the death comes when Adam eats…when he falls she falls…) “See? I’m okay. I didn’t die. It must be okay. God meant something other than what He said. All that “literal” stuff is wrong.” She speaks of the oneness with her husband (assuming they are equal…) in the speech of the serpent. Everything seems to be equivalent in that speech: no individuality. She speaks with the speech of the serpent of things Adam knows instantly are not the Word of God.– 1Timothy 2:14 and Adam was not deceived; but the woman,

having been deceived, was in transgression.

The Fall of ManBone of His Bone II

• Adam is not deceived. He does not ask for another wife for she is not to him an other than himself. For in God’s creating Speech God has spoken through him so that he cleaves to his wife and forsakes his Father. Adam is true to God’s Word spoken through himself as God’s Speech creates what He says.

The Fall of ManBone of His Bone III

God is teaching man what love is by His Word. It is God who is performing the love through man

for bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh by His living Word in man.

– Exodus 32:31-33 And Moses returned to Jehovah, and said, Alas, this people has sinned a great sin, and they have made themselves a god of gold! And now, if thou wilt forgive their sin...but if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book that thou hast written. And Jehovah said to Moses, Whoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

– Eph 5:29-32 For no one has ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as also the Christ the assembly: for we are members of his body; we are of his flesh, and of his bones. Because of this a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be united to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak as to Christ, and as to the assembly.

The Fall of ManTheir eyes are opened

• Before this new speech came and before the knowledge of good and evil was genuinely obtained (not by the speech of the serpent…) by eating the fruit of the tree in dis-obedience, Adam and Eve were naked and were not ashamed.– Genesis 2:25 And they were both naked, Man and

his wife, and were not ashamed.

• Now they understand they are naked and are ashamed of that nakedness.

The Fall of ManThe Fear of God

• Man obeys the voice of the alien speech of his own fear rather than the voice of God. It is not simply Adam who is hiding from God, it is the living speech in him who uses Adam to hide from God while it searches for power over God: it is the speech of the serpent that has lied first to itself. The emotional manipulation is merely the means this alien speech uses in now fallen man.

• This alien speech is sin.—a living creature that is not the Word of God.– John 8:42-45 Jesus said to them, If God were your father ye would

have loved me, for I came forth from God and am come from him ; for neither am I come of myself, but He has sent me. Why do ye not know My speech? Because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of the devil, as your father, and ye desire to do the lusts of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks falsehood, he speaks of what is his own; for he is a liar and its father: and because I speak the truth, ye do not believe me.

The Fall of ManThe Living Sin in them…

• The Earth and all over which man has authority is cursed: why it needs to be cleansed.

• Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and a heifer's ashes sprinkling the defiled, sanctifies for the purity of the

flesh, • Hebrews 10:4 For blood of bulls and goats is incapable of

taking away sins. – That which is under curse ( the flesh) is incapable of taking

away sin from anything

– That over which man had authority is of no power or spirit more excellent than man himself and therefore incapable to render salvation or actual new birth in Jesus Christ to men

– God Himself the only one more powerful and more excellent than man

» It was necessary that the Christ should suffer, die and be raised the third day…

The Fall of ManThe Living Sin in them II

All creation is cursed

• Rom 8:20-22 for the creature has been made subject to vanity, not of its will, but by reason of him who has subjected the same , in hope that the creature itself also shall be set free from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans together and travails in pain together until now.

– For hearkening to the voice of his wife as well as eating the fruit» Gen 3:17-19 And to Adam he said, Because thou hast (1)

hearkened to the voice of thy wife, and (2) eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed be the ground on thy account; with toil shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; and thorns and thistles shall it yield thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, until thou return to the ground: for out of it wast thou taken. For dust thou art; and unto dust shalt thou return.

• Sin: the unseen enemy; but not the un-heard– A living creature

• Sin as living adversary:

» Genesis 4:7,8 If thou doest well, will not thy countenance look up with confidence ? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door; and unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. And Cain spoke to Abel his brother, and it came to pass when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

» Romans 7:11 … for sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me .

The Fall of ManSin hides itself…

• Sin as unseen by man: the speech that speaks through fallen man and the only speech fallen man knows or has heard unless and until he is born again: the fall is the oneness with sin in death/ears that only hear the voice of sin– Psalm 12:2-4 They speak falsehood every one with his neighbour: with

flattering lip, with a double heart, do they speak. Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things, Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail, our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

– Psalm 59:7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who say they doth hear?

– Psalm 10:11 He saith in his heart, *God hath forgotten,

He hideth his face, He will never see it .– Psalm 64:5 They encourage themselves in

an evil matter, they concert to hide snares;

they say, Who will see them?

New Birth : Confrontation with sin after the new birth in Christ: no longer one with sin

• Romans 7:15-17 For that which I do, I do not own: for not what I will, this I do; but what I hate, this I practise. But if what I do not will, this I practise, I consent to the law that it is right. Now then it is no longer I that do it, but the sin that dwells in me.

• Psalm 17:8-10 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, From the wicked that destroy me, my deadly enemies, who compass me about. They are enclosed in

their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.

Psalm 19:12 Who understandeth his errors? Purify me from secret faults .

Psalm 141:9,10 Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal pass over.

The Fall of ManMan not fundamentally evil…

• Man is fallen NOT evil; yet children of wrath– Spiritually dead: separated from God and united

to sin in death– Spoken through by sin to each other

• Deceived that sin is a mere act that non-fallen man freely chooses to do

• Deceived by the speech each hears from the other– Only understanding of understanding itself is that all

words are mere information which exists merely to be accumulated to makes choices with in supposed ‘free will’

– Deceived the other person is at fault (‘free will’) because all persons supposedly have ‘freedom of speech and action’

Deception of what deception itself is, is reduced to supposed “wrong intellectual choice” or “wrong emotional response set” in support of the lie of free will

Because non-creating speech cannot create anything, it also seems to be part of that ideal environment in which free will could exist as being ( supposedly) ideally non-interfering with the human will BECAUSE of its powerlessness: uses the fact of its own powerlessness as camouflage as non-interference principle that seems to provide a shield against its own falsification because it IS the speech that speaks it while pointing men away from itself as falsely defining speech to be anything other than overtly non-creating ( so that lack of creation/scarcity seems the normal mode of life) and anything other than a living creature.

Lie of free will the perfect tool within which to hide the truth of non-creating speech: once men are deceived they have free will, they have a supposed logical need for more non-creating speech to tell them how to use the “free” will for personal advantage as if it had any truth at to it.. An endless journey to vanity that always seems to keep the freedom intact to get off somewhere –yet that never happens within that non-creating speech who is anti-Christ

The Fall of ManThe Living Sin in them…

– The non-creating speech is the speech of sin is Belial/Satan/anti-Christ:

– Belial• 2 Sam 22:4,5 I will call upon Jehovah, who is to be

praised; So shall I be saved from mine enemies. For the waves of death encompassed me, Torrents of Belial made me afraid.

– Satan• Daniel 3:7,8 Therefore at that time when all the peoples

heard the sound of the cornet, pipe, lute, sambuca, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and the languages fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Whereupon at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.

– Anti-Christ • The anti-Word of God

– 1 John 2:22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is the antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.

The Fall of ManThe Living Sin in them IV

• Jesus Christ, The Living Creating Word of God speaks to the sin in them

• Mat 23:34-36 Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes; and some of them ye will kill and crucify, and some of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and will persecute from city to city; so that all righteous blood shed upon the earth should come upon you, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these

things shall come upon this generation. – The generation which is condemned by the Word of

God as a creating act is the speech of sin and all those one with it.

Fallen Man in need of Salvation from Sin

• Salvation is not an intellectual issue– Not to be figured out with the knowledge of

good and evil by sin in you– No act of speech of sin in thought or in deed

can create anything– Salvation is real, literal new birth, new

creation in Jesus Christ and oneness with God through Jesus Christ, the Word of God

– Sin will not give up the soul it has captured since your physical birth. God will have to take it from sin by force.

• Mat 12:29 Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong man and plunder his goods, unless first he bind the strong man ? and then he will plunder his house.

Salvation not at all a case of identical creatures being in two different places:

New creatures in Jesus Christ will be in heaven: Word of God restored to man but making of man new creature by the act of restoration..

The rest will be in the lake of fire with non-creating speech

Not: “the same creatures ending up in heaven and the lake of fire earning placement by what they did or failed to do”

New Creation in Jesus ChristThrough The Word of God

• The Word of God which is not the speech of sin is the means whereby we are non-metaphorically born again as real, literal new creations in Jesus Christ

– James 1:18 According to His own will begat He us by the word of truth, that we should be a certain first-fruits of His creatures.

– 1Peter 1:23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the living and abiding word of God.

– Act 22:14,15 And he said, The God of our fathers has chosen thee beforehand to know His will, and to see the just one, and to hear a voice out of His mouth; for thou shalt be a witness for him to all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

– 1Corinthians 4:15 For if ye should have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the glad tidings.

New Creation in Jesus ChristThe Word of God II

• The real, literal, new birth in Jesus Christ is accomplished in this present corrupt tabernacle on this earth before physical death by hearing the Word of God:

– John 3:12 If I have said the earthly things to you, and ye believe not, how, if I say the heavenly things to you, will ye believe?

– Mat 11:15 He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

– 2Cor 13:3-5 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, (who is not weak towards you, but is powerful among you, for if indeed He has been crucified in weakness, yet He lives by God's power; for indeed we are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by God's power towards you,) examine your own selves if ye be in the faith; prove your own selves: do ye not recognise yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless indeed ye be reprobates?

New Creation in Jesus Christ:Irresistible Grace or Nothing

• Those who are fallen are spoken through by sin: the only language they know – Speech of sin unable to create anything

• Yet fallen men must be born again and reconciled to God

• Reconciliation not merely a matter of getting out of hell

• God must speak His creating Word and create the non-metaphorical new creation in Jesus Christ

• That which needs creating as new creation in Jesus Christ cannot create itself as it cannot speak God’s Speech, the only creating Speech, the Word of God

• That which is created cannot resist its own creation as it did not exist before it exists

God’s Word in Five Points• Total Depravity: man is fallen, (NOT fundamentally evil…)

completely one with the sin that lives, acts and speaks in him and through him and is incapable of birthing himself as a new creation in Jesus Christ

• Unconditional Election: God has chosen whom He will birth as new creations in Jesus Christ and fulfills all requirements for them as they are incapable of fulfilling any or even knowing of what needs to be done

• Limited Atonement: God has not chosen all men to be born again in Jesus Christ but has appointed some as vessels of His wrath apart from those He has appointed to be vessels of mercy. His atonement is exclusively for His chosen vessels of mercy.

• Irresistible Grace: Those who will be born again in Jesus Christ are absolutely dependant on God’s pro-active Speaking of His Speech to birth them as real, literal new creations in Jesus Christ. They cannot resist His Speech or refuse His will for them and cannot chose for themselves before they are born again to be born again.

• Perseverance of the Saints: Those who are genuinely born again as real, literal new creations in Jesus Christ are indeed real, literal new creations in Jesus Christ and cannot be un-born or be un-created from oneness with Christ, the Word of God, the means and life of their new creation: assurance of salvation/new creation: once saved always saved: reality.

What Have You Heard?• John 10:27,28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know

them, and they follow me; and I give them life eternal; and they shall never perish, and no one shall seize them out of my hand.

• John 10:5 But they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him, because they know not the voice of strangers. – If you are actively going to a church or watching

television to hear words which create nothing (the false gospel of free will…) but which merely moves your old heart, what are you doing? How is it you have not fled from the voice of strangers whose voice and speech can create nothing and who admit so by –saying– you must choose their words as truth and supposedly “do” something with them to save yourself? God explicitly says as spirit and as life His sheep will hear His voice but will flee from strangers.

What do you hear in you?Demonstration of New Birth in Christ

• Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and am knocking; if any one hear My voice and open the door, I will come in unto him and sup with him, and he with me.

1. Regeneration/New Birth by hearing the Word of God first.2. Awareness of that voice and its life in you such that He

opens the door through you for you second

• Phil 2:12,13 So that, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you both the willing and the working according to His good pleasure.

Assurance of new birth/salvationis recognition of Christ in you

• 1 Cor 3:16 Do ye not know that ye are the temple of God, and

that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

• Luke 12:11,12 But when they bring you before the synagogues and rulers and the authorities, be not careful how or what ye shall answer, or what ye shall say; for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the hour itself what should be said.

• Mat 10:19,20 But when they deliver you up, be not careful how or what ye shall speak; for it shall be given to you in that hour what ye shall speak. For ye are not the speakers, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you.

True Prayer:The Holy Spirit in you

• Galatians 4:6 But because ye are sons, God has sent out the

Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father. – God sends His creating, living and abiding Word into

you and creates you as real, literal new creation in Jesus Christ

– His Word then speaks back to Him through you for you and others (“YE are sons’…’into OUR hearts”) in oneness with Himself

– Pray only to the Father in the Name of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit

• Psalm 16:7 I will bless Jehovah, who giveth me counsel; even in the nights my reins instruct me.
