CLASSES The administrative/clerical classes are designed for administrative assistants, associates, and other employees. They help us focus on becoming proficient and effective users of technology in order to enhance job performance and to collaborate with other inter‐departments and organizations. The catalog pages are organized by class with all dates listed under the title. If you would like to see a calendar view of class offerings, jump ahead to page 10. To request a training that is not listed in this catalog, contact Educational Technology at 817‐814‐3100. The following classes are offered in this catalog:
IMPORTANT TO NOTE ABOUT MUNIS AND ESCHOOLMALL CLASSES
A Budget Owner (principal, supervisor, manager, director, assistant superintendent, etc.) must request access to Munis for his or her employee.
Rights to use the Munis applications must be requested by submitting the form found on the Customer Service Sharepoint page. To reach this page, begin on the FWISD home page and click Educators. At the bottom of the Educators page, locate and click Customer Service Web Site. You will be sent to the Office 365 login screen. Login with your Active Directory (email Login and Password) credentials and the Customer Service Sharepoint page will appear. Scroll down to the Forms section and look for Munis Action Request. It is located in the left column near the bottom of the screen.
Munis, Kronos, and Versatrans can be requested using the Munis Action Request.
Only an employee with Munis access will be granted the rights to eSchoolMall. The eSchoolMall class must be attended before rights are given. Register for the eSchoolMall training through the Eduphoria Workshop.

REGISTERING FOR CLASSES The Division of Technology offers a variety of classes in order to meet the needs of employees in Fort Worth ISD. All registration is through Eduphoria Workshop. Review the information below and contact Educational Technology (817‐814‐3100) if you have any questions. To register for a class:
1. Go to http://www.fwisd.org . 2. Click Educators. 3. Click Eduphoria in the banner.
4. Login using your Active Directory (email address) login and Eduphoria password. If this is your first time logging into the Eduphoria Workshop, use the word welcome as your password. You will be prompted to create a new password and update your profile.
5. Click Workshop. 6. View courses by Date&Time, Category, or by Credit Types. 7. To view Division of Technology trainings, click EDTECH in the Category section. A list of classes
by date will appear. 8. Select the class you want to attend. 9. Click Register.
To unregister or to remove your name from the class list:
1. Click on Course Registration. 2. Under “I am registered for…” find the class and select it. 3. Click Unregister.

Focus SIS
Focus Access and Navigation Audience: Mainly campus personnel (Data Clerk, Secretary, Counselor, Counselor Clerk, Principal, Assistant Principal) but also other district employees using the Focus Student Information System. Prerequisite: None. In this class, participants will learn how to access and navigate the Focus student information system (SIS). The user will be introduced to terminology and processes for a consistent and clear concept of our student information system. The user will be allowed and encouraged to personalize his or her Home screen and will actively participate in searching for data and producing reports.

Blackboard/ParentLink Audience: Mainly campus personnel (Principal, Principal’s Designee, Attendance Clerk) but also other district personnel needing to create broadcast messages. Prerequisite: None. This message broadcast system is versatile and powerful. A Principal or a Principal’s Designee can create and schedule a message to be broadcast by phone in a very short time. This system also produces reports of the automatic attendance calls as well as reports of the created message calls.

Audience: Anyone responsible for verifying the receipt of services or goods, usually Secretary, Financial Secretary, or Registrar. Prerequisite: None. After items are delivered from the vendor, the essential steps of Receiving the merchandise or service must be done to trigger vendor payment. This process is explained and practiced in this class.

Munis Time Entry
Audience: Anyone responsible for entering extra pay for Exempt employees, usually Secretary, Financial Secretary, or Registrar. Prerequisite: None. This MUNIS application is used to enter time worked by employees that DO NOT use the Kronos system to clock in and out. Formerly known as “Moonlight Payroll”, this information is taken from Time Cards for approved Extra Pay for Exempt employees.

Excel 2016 – Basic
Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None. In this basic Excel class, the student will progress from a beginner in the world of workbooks and spreadsheets to a confident user. Parts of a workbook, entering data, using the Fill Handle, formatting, and sorting data are all covered subjects. Learning how to ‘Find and Replace’ data is also demonstrated and practiced. AutoSum and basic formulas are explained, demonstrated, and practiced by the new users. After learning the Excel basics, a new user is really ready to learn many more Excel features. Some of those powerful features are Wrap Text, Merge & Center, Inserting and Deleting, Headers & Footers, and repeating columns and row headings on multiple printed pages. All of them will be explained and practiced in this class.

Excel 2016 ‐ Intermediate
Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None required, but Excel Basic is strongly encouraged. In this class, the user will step beyond using AutoSum and progress to creating simple formulas and using functions. Also covered in this class is the creation of Charts and Tables. Sorting data on multiple levels and adding Subtotals to data are other important processes examined, explained, and practiced. Sometimes the need for more involved formulas and functions is needed. In this class, the ‘If…then…else’ and IFERROR functions are introduced and used. The formulas needed to figure a Bank Balance are discussed, created, and used. Advanced Headers & Footers, including Date, Time, and Number of pages will be explained and practiced.

Excel 2016 ‐ Advanced
Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None required, but Excel Basic is strongly encouraged. In this class, the student will learn how to enhance a spreadsheet with shapes, photos, interesting letter designs, and borders. Also covered will be Hyperlinks, Conditional Formatting, Text‐to‐Column, and Concatenate. VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables are two very powerful processes. VLOOKUP allows the user to create a drop‐down menu from which an item is selected. That selection then populates fields with information, pulled from a table, pertaining to the item chosen. Pivot Tables allows a user to search and pull from a very large mass of data to produce various smaller, more understandable reports.

Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None. This class covers the new concepts and possibilities now available to us with OneDrive. New terms will be introduced and discussed. Sharing documents for collaboration will be extensively practiced.

OneNote 2016 ‐ Basic
Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None. This class introduces OneNote as a valuable tool for saving information in one place. The ribbons will be examined in‐depth as well as new concepts and new methods of saving and retrieving information. The student will practice adding notebooks and pages in those notebooks. Adding, deleting, and moving several types of objects will be discussed and practiced. This class takes OneNote to another level by examining more tools and features available to the user. Students will open Contextual Tabs, select ‘To Do’ presets, create Task Lists, and insert objects snipped from various sources. Copyright will also be briefly discussed.

Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None required, but Word Basic strongly encouraged. This class begins with an introduction to PowerPoint and what it can do for your presentation. Many of the commands on the ribbons are new concepts to users and time will be spent explaining those commands. The student will create, run, edit, and save a simple PowerPoint presentation.

Word 2016 ‐ Basic
Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None. In this basic Word class, a beginner in creating documents will learn about and use many helpful tools. The Quick Access, Mini, and Shortcut Toolbars are all very useful in creating every document. Editing methods, such as ‘Find and Replace’ are explained and practiced. Learning how to use ‘Spelling & Grammar’ is a life‐saver, and practicing different formatting features is very enlightening. Different methods of Saving and Printing a document are discussed and practiced. Various ways to enhance a word document while incorporating the FWISD branding colors and logos are examined. Headers & Footers, screen shots, text boxes, and shapes are explained and practiced. Other tools used are Margins, Orientation, Watermarks, Page Borders, and Themes. Word Art, Smart Art, and Page Color, AutoCorrect, and Quick Parts are covered. A brief discussion of Copyright and Creative Commons finishes this class.

Word 2016 ‐ Intermediate
Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None required, but Word Basic strongly encouraged. Mail Merge is one of the most useful processes anyone can learn for personalizing documents. Letters, Labels, and Certificates will be demonstrated and practiced. Creating Charts in Word is introduced and the various ways to create a Table are discussed and practiced. The grouping and ungrouping of objects is discussed and practiced and SmartArt and WordArt are used extensively. The examination of existing ‘Styles’ and the creation of new and personal ‘Styles’ is encouraged and practiced.

Word 2016 ‐ Advanced
Audience: Anyone. Prerequisite: None required, but Word Basic strongly encouraged. The first part of this class involves working with Themes, Graphics, and Shapes. The results of this work will then be used in a newsletter exercise including the use of multiple columns. To create an on‐line manual or article, many tools are used. Hyperlinks, Bookmarks, a Table of Contents, very advanced Headers & Footers, and more are all used. Editing this type of document can also benefit from Tracking. All of this information will be discussed, explained, and practiced.
