Early Childhood Developmental Screening: The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth. Early Childhood Screening is a free, quick and easy check of how your child is growing, developing and learning. Between the ages of 3 and 4, Early Childhood Screening can detect possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before they start school. At your child’s screening, a trained professional will play games with your child to check:

* Vision * Hearing * Height and weight * Large and fine muscle skills * Thinking, language and communication skills * Social and emotional development * Immunization status

All of the information from your child’s Early Childhood Developmental Screening is important to his/her success. After the screening, you will know how your child is growing, developing and learning.

To schedule your child’s FREE Early Childhood Developmental Screening visit, www.belleplaine.k12.mn.us and click on Early Learning Services. Then click on Early Childhood Developmental Screening. Please read the information, fill out the scheduling form and then submit the scheduling form. If you have any questions, please contact Carolina Stiemke, Early Childhood Screening Coordinator at [email protected] or call at 952-378-2454.
