Hello, and thank you for your interest in Susan’s Sumptuous Soaps! I fell in love with handmade soap many years ago. However, it was difficult to find locally and, more often than not, I was disappointed in the quality of the soap as well as the fragrances. Frustrated, I decided to make my own soap. I developed a creamy, luxurious goat’s milk soap. From there I located intoxicating fragrances (the “keepers” are few and far between!). I should have been satisfied with luxurious bars of handmade soap with rich, creamy lather and incredible fragrances, but that still wasn’t enough. Having always had a bit of an artisanal flair, I wanted to elevate the visual interest of each bar. Still I wanted more. More types of soap. Different additives. Varying combinations. Goat’s milk soap. Coconut milk soap. Buttermilk soap. Shea butter soap. Cocoa butter soap. Silk soap. I'm addicted and I can't stop! You have a lot of soap choices. Read the labels. If you think handmade soap may be right for you, give my soap a try. You could spend a lot more money on handmade soap, but why should you? Spending more will not buy you a better bar of soap than Susan’s Sumptuous Soaps. CUSTOMIZATION: Just so you know, I LOVE special order and customization requests! What kind of soap is right for you?

Commercial “soaps,” commonly called beauty/deodorant/moisturizing bars, dry out skin and leave unhealthy chemical residues. There is a reason it is so cheap! Commercial soaps contain chemicals, petroleum products (irritating to people with sensitive skin), esters (known carcinogenics), alcohols (which dry your skin), low grade oils, waxes, fillers, deter-gents and preservatives. Your skin absorbs those chemicals. My soaps contain no harmful chemicals and detergents.

Glycerine, a natural moisturizing agent and conditioner (a by-product of the soap-making process), is retained in handmade soap. In commercial soap, all of the glycerine is re-moved and sold as a valuable commodity to the cosmetic industry, which in turn resells to you in the form of beauty lotions and other products at a higher price.

The primary ingredient in commercial “soaps” is animal fat, used because it is cheap and plentiful. It clogs pores, causes blackheads, contributes to acne, provides a breeding ground for bacteria, and aggra-vates certain skin conditions. I use high quality oils for their benefits to skin. They are more expensive, but the resulting soap is superior in texture, moisturizing proper-ties and cleaning ability. The lather should be rich and luxurious.

Fresh goat’s milk, buttermilk and coconut milk are favorites of mine, and for good reason. Milk has long been known for its moisturizing properties and is an ancient beauty treat-ment. Cleopatra was known for her beautiful skin resulting from her famous milk baths. Milk also has an alpha-hydroxy acid which is well known for softening skin and leaving it rejuvenated for a younger appearance. Milk soaps have a PH level similar to our skin, which helps protect the skin from invading bacteria and chemicals we come in contact with every day. People who suffer from skin allergies, eczema, psoriasis and dry skin are fre-quent users of milk soaps.

In my opinion, no bar is complete without elevated visual interest and an artisanal flair. I use natural and cosmetic grade col-orants. Customized soaps without colorants are available. I use both fragrance and Es-sential Oils, but either or both can be with-held upon request. Whether fragrance or Essential Oils, I believe the fragrances should be nothing short of intoxicating.

Many of my soaps have been formulated with Tussah Silk for extra luxury. Tussah Silk is a protein produced by the silkworm. This Tussah Silk is cruelty free in that the cocoons are not disturbed until the silk-worms are gone. The addition of silk to soap produces a shinier appearance, slightly increased lather, and a wonderful silky feel to it.

Exfoliants and clays (Rhassoul, Bentonite, and French Pink Clay) are available as additives.

Buttermilk Soap

Milk soaps offer a creamier lather and more conditioning than soaps utilizing just water. Buttermilk is rich in lactic acid. Lactic acid is found in many expensive beauty products and is one of the best facial peels that doctors choose for softening, brightening and exfo-liating skin. Because of its acidic and astringent nature, it is said to treat age spots, freck-les, and even tightens skin. Buttermilk helps soften, smooth and hydrate your skin, and lends a rich creaminess to the lather. $5 each. Available at this time:

BUTTERMILK & HONEY: Honey is incredible for your skin. It is a natural humec-tant—it attracts and retains moisture from the air into the deepest layers of your skin for penetrating, long-lasting hydration. The enzymes in honey clarify skin and keep pores clear and clean. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of honey thwart bacteria that can lead to breakouts. Honey is loaded with antioxidants, en-zymes and other nutrients that nourish, cleanse and hydrate your skin. Honey’s antioxidants will repair and protect your skin. The anti-inflammatory and antibacte-rial compounds calm redness and irritation, decrease the appearance of scars, and increase healing and tissue regeneration. This soap has been lightly fragranced with Wild Mountain Honey.

BUTTERMILK & SHEA BUTTER: Shea butter is one of nature’s richest moisturizers. For acne-prone skin, shea butter is a wiser choice than cocoa butter. The moistur-izers in shea butter are the same moisturizers produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin. Shea butter is said to be beneficial for treating dry skin, blemishes, skin discoloration, scars and wrinkles. Shea butter contains Vitamins A and E, which help maintain the skin and keep it clear and healthy. Fragranced with a Susan’s Sumptuous Soaps’ exclusive, Seduction: A blend of French Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and Neroli Essential Oils. Absolutely intoxicating. Use it if you dare.

Coconut Milk Soap

With and Without Silk Milk soaps offer a creamier lather and more conditioning than soaps utilizing just water. Coconut milk is softening and soothing to the skin. A wonderful vegan alternative to goat's milk, coconut milk is abundant with natural antiseptic fatty acids, and gently removes impurities without drying the skin. Many cultures in tropical cli-mates have found that coconut milk has numerous skin smoothing properties. It is widely used in spas in India to soothe dry skin and scalps. Available at this time:

LAVENDER FIELDS: A blend of different kinds of French Lavender Essential Oil for a dependable, consistent blend. Smells divine - even if you think you don't like lav-ender.

CARNATION: Carnation fragranced soap seems to be a distant memory, perhaps because a good carnation fragrance seems impossible to find. I have created my own blend, which I believe hits the mark. This soap is delicately fragranced with the spicy clove-like aroma of heritage carnations of days gone by.

OATMEAL, MILK & HONEY - WITH OATS: This nourishing bar has oats for exfoli-ation. It is lightly fragranced with Oatmeal, Milk & Honey, a long time favorite of many. Mildly sweet and toasty and smells so rich, it's intoxicating.

OATMEAL, MILK & HONEY - WITH OATS & COCOA BUTTER: Contains oats for exfoliation, and cocoa butter for added moisturization. Lightly fragranced with Oat-meal, Milk & Honey. CITRUS BLISS: A blast of citrus and a surprise twist make this a refreshing Citrus Bliss! This is my own blend, and personally I think it's rather addictive. JASMINE DREAMS: A calming and sensual light floral, sure to bring you sweet dreams. BLACK RASPBERRY VANILLA - Ripe black raspberries are mixed with dark plum and warm vanilla. Mmmm. SPICED MAHOGANY: This deep, rich woody scent has notes of Italian Bergamot, Apple Wood and Tonka Bean to round out the darker, more sensuous Patchouli, Cedarwood, and Oakmoss. To keep this fragrance from smelling like a freshly cut wood floor, spices of Cardamom, Vanilla Bourbon and Allspice have been added. SWEET JUICY PEAR: Tart and juicy, this fragrance captures the irresistible flavor of crisp pears. ORANGE MUSK: A Susan’s Sumptuous Soaps’ exclusive blend, Sweet Orange Essential Oil topped off with a dollop of rich musk—a sensuous combination. This soap has been formulated with Tussah Silk for extra luxury. The addition of silk to soap produces a shinier appearance, slightly increased lather, and a wonderful silky feel to it. SPICY LIME: Crisp Peruvian Lime Essential Oil rounded out with notes of Indonesian Clove, Gin-ger Oil from India, and Nutmeg. A very tradi-tional masculine blend with a fresh, modern edge. Milk soaps provide extra moisturizing qualities and a creaminess that can’t be matched in soap formulated with just water. Goat’s milk has been used since ancient times as a natu-ral cleanser. It is one of nature’s finest moisturizers, is softening and soothing to the skin, and adds creaminess to handcrafted soap. Goat’s milk also contains Vitamin A, several B Vitamins including riboflavin, niacin, B6, B12 and lactic acid. Lactic acid is one of the most commonly used alpha hydroxy acids used in skin care. These alpha hydroxy acids, naturally occurring in goat’s milk, penetrate the skin and are believed to have rejuvenating effects on skin cells, neutralizing free radicals, and slowing the aging process while improv-ing the overall look and feel of the skin. Also great for hunters, and for those onion and garlic smells in the kitchen too. Heavenly smell...think Wiley Wallaby Australian Style Black Gourmet Licorice!

BASIL: The olive oil in this soap has been infused with Basil. Basil is chock-full of antibacterial, antifungal and antibiotic properties to help prevent and/or treat a va-riety of skin issues, including skin irritations, in infections, dermatitis, psoriasis, ec-zema, and acne. It also has powerful antioxidant properties that can help protect skin from premature aging and common skin issues. The only fragrance in this soap is from the Basil infusion.

WOODLAND SPLENDOR: A fantastic forest scent with a wonderful mix of pines and woodsy base notes. Brisk and fresh.

BLACK CANYON: A deep musk with light floral notes and a touch of sandalwood and patchouli. Men and women alike enjoy this fragrance.

PEPPERMINT: This Essential Oil is a stimulating mint with a candy cane smell. Por-tion of oil removed, rendering a higher menthol content.

OATMEAL, MILK & HONEY: A longtime favorite of many. Mildly sweet and toasty, and smells so rich, it’s intoxicating!

DRAKKAR: A fabulous men’s fragrance with interesting notes of spicy berries, cit-rus, Lavender and Amber.

LAVENDER, MILK & HONEY: Oatmeal, Milk & Honey has been a long standing favorite of many. I added a hint of lavender and have come up with a delightful blend—Lavender, Milk & Honey. It is now one of my favorite fragrances. I think you’ll love it also! No oats in this one.

Goat’s Milk Soap

With Rhassoul Clay

Goat’s Milk Soap with French Pink Clay

French Pink Clay has been used for centuries to clean and heal the skin and is used in spas around the world. It gently cleans and detoxifies the skin, re-moves dead skin cells, helps remove black-heads and deep cleans pores, and creates an overall refreshed appearance. Cocoa Butter Soap With Silk

Cocoa butter is one of nature's richest moisturizers. Used in soap, it contributes to rich, creamy lather and provides conditioning and moisturizing. It puts down a protective lay-er that holds moisture to the skin, acting as a softener. Cocoa butter helps ease derma-titis and rashes. These soaps have been formulated with Tussah Silk for extra luxury. The addition of silk to soap produces a shinier appearance, slightly increased lather, and a wonderful silky feel to it. CITRUS BLISS: A blast of citrus and a surprise twist make this a refreshing Citrus Bliss! This is my own blend, and personally I think it's rather addictive.

ORANGE BLOSSOM: Orange tree blossoms are enticingly aromatic, and this is an incredible replication. A very sensual and wonderfully intoxicating white flower scent. This one is destined to be a long-time favorite.

Silk Soap

Tussah Silk is a protein produced by the silkworm. This Tussah Silk is cruelty free in that the cocoons are not disturbed until the silkworms are gone. LEMON SUNSHINE: My dear mother-in-law used to make a fabulous "Lemon Sun-shine Bread." The aroma was heavenly. When I smelled this new soap, I knew it had to be named Lemon Sunshine Soap!

ALOE & CUCUMBER: A Susan’s Sumptuous Soaps’ exclusive fragrance blend of soothing green aloe and crisp, cool cucumbers makes this soap as refreshing as a summer breeze.

LILAC: A good lilac can be elusive. This one's the real deal.

SANDALWOOD ROSE: A soft, woodsy sandalwood rounded off with light notes of rose in the background – rich, sophisticated, seductive and sensual.

“Glycerine” Soap

When people talk about “glycerine soap,” they are usually referring to a transparent soap. All handmade soap contains glycerine. “Glycerine soap” goes through a hot process which keeps the soap crystals from becoming opaque. Without this crystallization, the soap remains clear. Available in my complete fragrance line.

Have you experienced irritation or incompatibility with other shaving soaps and creams? The high glycerin formula and Bentonite Clay in my Shaving Soap will provide an extremely gentle, irritation free shave for even the most sensitive skin. Conditioning Shampoo Bar

Now in one step you can have clean, silky hair, with my new Conditioning Shampoo Bar! This recipe has been specifically formulated to clean and condition your hair and scalp, and leave hair clean, healthy, soft and shiny. A nominal amount of soap will produce volumes of lather on a sponge. You’ll notice a difference in your hair after one shampoo. Contains DL-Panthenol, also known as Pro-Vitamin B5, which is a superb moisturizer in hair care prod-ucts. It is known to help improve hair structure and provide extra sheen and shine. Aloe & Cucumber – A personal fragrance blend of soothing green aloe and crisp, cool cucumbers makes this soap as refreshing as a summer breeze. Aloe Vera – This soothing scent is clean and green with a hint of a chill. Ancient Sedona – This fragrance is an Oriental Floral Amber. This sensual, deep scent was named for the famous city in Arizona, invoking days of old and a deeper, richer experience. It opens with green notes of Mandarin Leaf and Orange Blossom. Sweetgrass – This is a bright, green scent that is a compliment to the bright scents of summer. It is a great unisex fragrance. Absolutely scrumptious! Tangerine – Bright, fruity, and sweet, Tangerine Essential Oil reminds us of happy summer days eating orange popsicles. Many claim that Tangerine oil promotes tranquility and helps calm hyperactive chil-dren. It may also help reduce stretch marks during pregnancy and act as an antiseptic toner for oily skin. However it helps you, it smells yummy! White Tea & Ginger – This fragrance has a delightfully warm and comforting smell. With top notes of Bergamot, Lemon Peels and Green Daylilies, this fragrance is brought back to its roots with a base of Ginger, Nutmeg and Warm Musk. White floral notes, such as Hyacinth, Freesia and Peony complete the mix. This fragrance is unique in many ways and it is difficult to pick out individual notes when you smell the soothing blend. Wild Mountain Honey – This is an absolutely delectable honey fragrance with an accompanying soft bouquet of wild flowers. Delicious! Woodland Splendor— A fantastic forest scent with a wonderful mix of pines and woodsy base notes. Brisk and fresh.

The first and primary ingredient in my Sumptuous Soaps and other products: LOVE! They are totally free of:

Parabens, such as Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, and Propylparaben.

Sulfates, such as Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES).

Phthalates, such as Dinbutylphthlate (DPB), Diethylphthalate (DEP), Dimethylphthalate (DMP), and Benzylbutylphthalate (BzBP).

Petroleum derivatives, such as Propylene Glycol (PG, which

is the active component in antifreeze), Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Ethylene Glycol (EG), and mineral oil.

Ammonia derivatives, such as Diethanolamine (DEA),

Triethanolamine (TEA) and Monoethanolamine (MEA).

Formaldehyde releasing ingredients, such as Imidazolidinyl Urea and DMDM Hydantoin.

Reading labels isn’t just for food. Read your soap and cosmetic labels. For instance, many if not all of Bath and Body Works products contain ingredients that are skin or eye irritants, but some ingredients can also cause more serious problems. Benzyl alcohol is a common ingredient that is also a neurotoxin which can cause allergic reactions, liver damage, coma and death in animals. Dimethicone is derived from petroleum and a known environmental contaminant. Disodium EDTA is a neurotoxin made from formaldehyde. It has been associ-ated with brain damage, liver changes, endocrine damage, fetal damage and birth abnormal-ities in animals. And finally, methylparaben is an endocrine disruptor that has been linked to breast and ovarian cancer and is also an environmental contaminant. Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer: “Warning: For external use only. If swallowed, contact a poison control center right away.” Just what you want to be putting on (and licking off) your lips! Instead, try my Luscious Lip Butter—Made with mango butter, shea butter, coco-nut oil, beeswax, and flavoring when noted. Johnson’s Baby Oil is 100% mineral oil, a petroleum derivative. A report on carcinogens states that untreated and mildly treated mineral oils are known to be human carcinogens. A study on mice showed that the more refined the oil, the less carcinogenic it was. Cosmetic grade mineral oil is most likely not going to cause you to suffer from cancer. If “most like-ly” is good enough for you, maybe you don’t need to worry about it. If, on the other hand, you don’t want to take the risk, and would prefer to use natural alternatives that not only soften your skin, but nourish it, look to ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil and co-conut oil. You will find these ingredients on my shelf and in my products.

Mineral oil is used in a lot of commercial products because it is inexpensive. In fact, it is more expensive to dispose of it than to purchase it. The molecular structure of mineral oil is too large to penetrate the skin. Thus, instead of being absorbed by your skin, it sits on top. Mineral oil supporters paint the picture that it locks in moisture. The assumption then is that if the skin feels smooth, it must be moist. In reality, mineral oil doesn’t allow the skin to breathe. It prevents the body from absorbing oxygen and from eliminating tox-ins and other waste products. Better options for your skin are all natural shea butter and coconut oil—two of the most reparative and nourishing oils available straight from the earth. Shea butter is high in Vitamins A, E and F. Some of shea butter’s benefits: Rejuve-nates and restores elasticity to the skin, alleviates sunburns, helps cure eczema and psoria-sis, and repairs skin cracks. Coconut oil is full of antioxidants. It soothes and softens the skin, corrects dryness and scaling, helps to heal wounds, and increases collagen turnover. Shea butter and coconut oil both are easily absorbed without clogging pores or feeling greasy. My customers with eczema and other skin conditions all vigorously applaud the benefits of my Whipped Shea Butter Body Soufflé, which contains shea butter and coconut oil. All of Susan's Sumptuous Soaps and other products are lovingly made in Lake Hattie Town-ship in northern Minnesota with ingredients you and your skin will love. All of my products are labeled with their ingredients. My products contain the oils and but-ters identified on the following pages. Colorants, when added, are natural and/or cosmetic-grade. Special order soap is available without any coloring (at no extra charge, of course). Fragrances consist of a proprietary blend of essential and/or fragrance oils. Special order soap is available without fragrance. Some soaps have exfoliating agents and other additives such as Vitamin E oil, honey, oats, cornmeal, poppy seeds, cinnamon and other herbs. Rhassoul Clay and French Pink Clay are available as soap additives. My Crème de la Crème Hand and Face Cream has purified water in it, so it is absolutely necessary to use a preservative. I use Optiphen Plus, which is paraben-free, a non-formaldehyde donor, and non-isothiazolinone. It contains Phenoxyethanol (an aromatic ether alcohol), Caprylyl Glycol (an emollient base), and Sorbic Acid (a natural acid that of-fers protection from yeast, fungus and mold). The oils and butters used in my soap and other products are described on the following pages.

We can’t rely on the cosmetic industry to take care of our skin; we all need to read the labels and do our research.

Oils and Butters in My Products

COCONUT OIL: Contributes to fluffy lather and lathers well even in very hard water. It is emollient, moisturizing, conditioning and protecting to the skin. Coconut oil provides excel-lent cleansing properties to soap. It contains ferulic acid, which is a very effective anti-oxidant – more powerful than Vitamin E – that can prevent skin aging, reduce age spots, and help repair light and radiation induced damage. It penetrates skin to soften and mois-turize, soothes wind chapped and sunburned skin, and reduces itching and inflammation. It contains caffeic acid, which is also a good anti-oxidant. Coconut oil also contains catechins, which offers antibiotic properties, and lauric acid, which offers anti-bacterial properties. Note: Using an overabundance of coconut oil can be drying to skin.

OLIVE OIL: Used in soap for its incredibly creamy and mild lather. Produces small, silky bubbles. Naturally high in antioxidants and helps condition skin. Contains up to 83% of oleic acid, which is moisturizing, regenerating, softening, offers anti-inflammatory proper-ties, and is well absorbed by the skin. Forms a breathable layer on the skin, preventing loss of internal moisture. Attracts external moisture to your skin, helping to keep skin soft and supple.

RICE BRAN OIL: Rice bran oil imparts a lovely silkiness to soap. It provides moisturizing and is a good choice for mature, delicate or sensitive skin. Rice Bran Oil contains ferulic acid, a very effective antioxidant. Studies are showing that ferulic acid can prevent skin ag-ing and reduce age spots. It can penetrate the skin to offer moisturizing and softening, help with wind chapped or sunburned skin, and help reduce itching and inflammation in the skin.

PALM OIL: Palm oil is widely used for its hardening properties in soap and, when used in conjunction with coconut oil, acts as a secondary lathering agent. It cleans well, provides conditioning and contributes to a silky feel.

FRACTIONATED COCONUT OIL: Fractionated coconut oil is a light feeling and offers moisturization. It is easily absorbed into the skin without feeling greasy. In soap, it cleans-es and produces bubbles.

CASTOR OIL: Castor oil provides a rich, creamy lather in soap and provides conditioning and moisturizing. It penetrates skin easily, and acts as a softening oil. Castor oil contains up to 95% ricinoleic fatty acid, which makes it an excellent humectant, attracting and hold-ing moisture to the skin. It contains some phytosterols, so it offers some anti-inflammatory and itch reducing properties.

CANOLA OIL: Canola oil works well in combination with other oils and makes for a bal-anced bar of soap. It produces a creamy lather and offers conditioning benefits.

JOJOBA OIL: Jojoba oil has been used for centuries to treat sores, cuts, as a conditioner and for other skin treatments. Jojoba oil resembles human sebum, which is the natural sub-stance our skin produces to keep our skin supple. As we age, we start to produce less se-bum, and jojoba oil can act as a replacement. It also mimics collagen. Jojoba is perfect for any skin type. If your skin is oily, jojoba oil will dissolve clogged pores and restore the skin to its natural pH balance. Jojoba is readily absorbed into skin because the skin accepts it as sebum. Jojoba will not leave a greasy feeling on the skin because it is absorbed. Scien-tific research has shown that jojoba can increase skin softness by up to 37%, it reduces su-perficial lines and wrinkles up to 25% upon application and up to 11% after 8 hours.

SWEET ALMOND OIL: Sweet almond oil is good for all skin types, but is especially appro-priate for dry skin care. It is a natural source of skin-nourishing antioxidants and vitamins. It is reported to be soothing, healing, lubricating, softening, revitalizing, regenerating, and nourishing. It is good for sensitive or irritated skin and helps relieve itching, soreness and dryness.

AVOCADO OIL: Avocado oil is a rich, skin-rejuvenating oil, easily absorbed by the skin and hair. It is very high in oleic acid (up to 80%) and is good for dry, dull, dehydrated skin, aging skin, and eczema.

COCOA BUTTER: Cocoa butter is one of nature’s richest moisturizers. It has been used for centuries as a beauty product. It is effective in easing skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. Cocoa butter contains cocoa mass polyphenol (CMP), which helps ease dermatitis or rashes. CMP may also inhibit the growth of cancerous cells and tumors. Cocoa butter contains antioxidants that can kill off a wide range of free radicals that de-stroy your skin cells and lead to premature aging. In soap, cocoa butter contributes to rich, creamy lather and provides conditioning and moisturizing. It puts down a protective layer that holds moisture to the skin, acting as a softener. For acne-prone skin, shea butter is a wiser choice than cocoa butter.

SHEA BUTTER: Shea butter is another of nature’s richest moisturizers. It has been used for centuries as a beauty product. The moisturizers in shea butter are the same moisturiz-ers produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin. It is good for all skin types and will nour-ish your skin to a deep level. Shea butter contains Vitamins A and E, which help maintain the skin and keep it clear and healthy. It is said to be beneficial for treating dry skin, blem-ishes, skin discoloration, scars and wrinkles. In addition to moisturization, the oleic acid in shea butter – up to 55% – offers regenerating, anti-inflammatory, and softening properties. In soap, it contributes to stable lather, conditioning, and a silky, slippery feel.

MANGO BUTTER: Mango butter contains anti-oxidants which provide anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal benefits. It is well absorbed by the skin and is moisturizing and softening. Because of its astringent qualities, it is best suited for normal to oily skin.

Did you know that each one of your skin cells has a life span of two to four weeks? At the begin-ning of the cycle, it starts out as a bright, healthy cell. Each skin cell originates at the base of your skin layers and moves toward the surface. By the cell’s final days, it is scaly, dehydrated, tough and colorless. Your skin works hard to naturally shed these cells daily, but as we age, it becomes more difficult for our skin to get rid of dead cells. As a result, dead cells build up and cause problems like clogged pores, dullness and dehydration. The key: EXFOLIATION!
