As we approach our final meeting of 2011, I am amazed at how quickly the time has passed and how successful the year has been for our organization.

Many of you attended our 6th Annual “Driving the Hope Home” golf tournament and meeting workshop in July. A huge thanks to our sponsors, speakers, attendees, golfers, and raffle donors who led us to an overwhelming $12,500 total for The American Cancer Society and Hope Place.

We now look forward to an amazing 20th Anniversary celebration on November 3rd PleaseWe now look forward to an amazing 20 Anniversary celebration on November 3 . Please join us for an action packed line up of education, hosted dinner, live music, recognition for the honorary charter members and organizations, and a silent auction. Once again, the proceeds of the silent auction will benefit The American Cancer Society and Hope Place. Additionally, we will be kicking off our annual Northwest Harvest Food Drive, which will continue through the holidays.

Along with great networking opportunities, we recognize the importance of strong education for our members due to the continually shifting trends within the industry.  To assist with our continued commitment to bring valuable information and the exchange of best practices to our membership, we recently sent out an online survey. We value your continued feedback and suggested topics to ensure we are meeting your educational needs.  Additionally, please feel free to contact a Board Member to share your ideas at any time.  

Amidst our continually fluctuating market, exhausting workloads and limited time, please know how much this Board appreciates your individual contributions to our overall success.  Business has resumed for some of us in higher volume this year, leaving us optimistic, yet still cautious.

It ill b i t ti t l t i i d t t d h d t d th iIt will be interesting to evaluate emerging industry trends as we head toward the coming year. In mid November, our Board will meet to discuss ways to enhance member involvement in 2012.  Our goal is to have all 2012 meeting dates in your inbox by the end of this year.

Title Industry Changes

In the US before 1874, buyers took the word of the seller that the title to the transferring

Donna Hyatt, a veteran of the state’s trucking industry and president of City Moving Systems Inc.  , in Kent, has been elected the first woman president of the Washington Trucking Association. Hyatt has long held industry leadership positions, as president of the Washington Movers Conference, and as first vice president of the 89‐year‐old trucking associationassociation.

Pet Express was recently featured in a San Francisco Chronicle article on pet shipping titled, “As economy takes flight, more pets relocate, too”.

Debra Smith has been named president and relocation director of Home Destination Relocation and Real Estate. Debra manages the relocation service delivery, expense management and is the broker of record for the company.

Graebel is pleased to announce that Darin Burley, GMS, has been promoted to Vice President of Business Development for the West Coast.

Going Once… Going Twice… SOLD!
