Clocks Go Forward on March 9
We've got a time change coming up in the United States. Clocks go forward one hour on Sunday, March 9, which is the beginning of Daylight Saving Time (DST).
Most of the U.S. follows DST, but there are a few exceptions. These states and territories do not observe DST:
States - Hawaii, most of Arizona
Territories - American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands

Bow High School has teamed up with the Baker Free Library to offer the Job Search Strategies for Teens! This work-shop series is a great way for high school students to learn the essentials of work-place readiness while earning ca-
reer exploration hours. The workshops will take place on Wednesdays during the month of March during Break (9:00-9:30am) in the Media Center Tutorial Room. Here are the details:

Winter Carnival Carnival will be the week of 3/10 - 3/14. We will have break activities and after school activities each day culminating with the assembly on Friday.

Break: Bow-mazing Race Kickoff (meet by the school store) 4-8 players per grade After School: Dodge ball – old school – Teams of 9, 6 on the floor as many games as possible in 7 minutes
Dance Contest Prelims - Any style, individual or groups, must provide music and routine
Wednesday
Break: Bow-mazing Race Continued, Pie Eating Contest

Babysitting is Available at the Annual School Meeting on Friday, March 14 at 7 PM
Student Senate and NHS members from the high school will be offering free babysitting again this year at the annual
school district meeting. We will have a gym area open, arts and movies in the Media Center and snacks available.

Literary Magazine -The Falcon Vision Interested in seeing your work in print? Got ideas that you want to share? Here’s your chance to publicize essays, poetry, photography and other creative work. The deadline for all submissions to The Falcon Vision, BHS’s literary
magazine is April 11, 2014.
Questions and submissions can be directed to Mrs. Aubin or Ms. Burke in person or through email
([email protected] and [email protected]). FALCON VISION ART CONTEST - Open to all mediums, from photography to painting. The winner will have their
art featured on the magazine’s cover, while the runners-up will be featured inside. FALCON VISION DOODLE
Enjoy scribbling graffiti letters on your notes? Then put in an entry for the Falcon Vision Doodle contest. The win-
ner’s decorated lettering will be used as the magazine’s title.

Summer Opportunity This coming summer, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is offering two on-campus, residential summer programs
for students interested in learning more about science and engineering. WPI Frontiers is for soon to be juniors and seniors and blends science, technology, and engineering programs with humanities and arts workshops and a full
schedule of social activities. WPI Launch is for students entering freshman and sophomore years in high

Interact Interact is accepting applications from now until Monday, March 10. Interact is a community service club. We meet
twice a month at 7 am on Friday mornings. Applications can be found in the main office and in the Humanities
classrooms.
Our Friday, March 7 meeting is open to any interested person. We meet in the American Studies room at 7 am.

Bow High School / Bow Memorial School Athletic Administrator Report
I am pleased to inform the Bow School Board of all the great (championship) happenings in our athletic program.
We aim to make athletics challenging and fun for all our student-athletes!
Highlights:
Awards- Naomi Kramer recently captured both the Classical and Freestyle Nordic skiing Individual State Champion-
ships. The Championships ran Naomi’s career total to 5 Individual titles. Lily Naimie finished 3rd in Freestyle at the Meet of Champions. On Saturday February 22nd Peter LaRiviere (138 lb. class) and Tony Roberts (195 lb. class) won
Division 3 State Wrestling Individual Championships. The title is the 3rd for Peter and the 1st for Tony Roberts.
New- The Bow Unified Basketball team recently completed their first season with a 40-36 victory over previously
unbeaten Merrimack Valley. Our team received wonderful support and I personally thank those who have expressed words of praise for our team. The unified 5 athletes have received much deserved press but the other stars are the
eight partners. Allie Krause, Siera Welch, Rebecca Rotman, Sarah Lane, Julia Currier, Tucker Johnson, Jason Smick, and Ryan Murray “ you guys and girls rock”. Your unselfish caring for your unified athletes was special. Special thank
you to student Assistants Elyse Seward, and Kayla Adair. Dan Ferreira was a steady influence on all as the coach of
the team.
Program Accomplishments –The Girls Nordic Ski team recently captured the Division 3 State Championship. Con-gratulations to the girls who competed and Coaches Chris Naimie and Becca Cleary. The boys team finished 3rd in
the Division 3 states. The Bow Girls basketball team completed the regular season at 13-5 and next they paly Gilford
in the state tournament on Thursday February 27th at 7 pm at Bow High School. The Bow High hockey team is now 13-3-1 on the season with 1 regular season game to play. The team should end the season as the 2nd or 3rd seed in
the division 2 state tournament. The first playoff game will take place on March 8th at Everett Arena in Concord. You can check Schedulestar.com/ Bow High School for the time and opponent.
Coming Events:
March 17th –Athletic Academic Awards at Capital Center for the Arts 9:30 AM March 20st and March 21st -NHADA Student Leadership Conference at Courtyard Marriot.
March 24th all BHS spring sports start their preseason. March 31st first day (meeting) for BMS spring sports.
April 2nd – 8th grade student-athlete and parent BHS athletics orientation.
August 1st- Bow Boosters Golf Tournament at Canterbury Woods Country Club. September 26 and September 27th-Homecoming – our primary opponent is Bishop Brady.
Staff Positions- Alli Brooks has been hired as a Bow High School Girls Lacrosse Coach.

This three-week program will include general strategies for taking the SAT Reasoning Test with specific strategies for the various types of questions in the Math, Creative
Reading, and Writing sections.
