Installing Fakta clients

Select Architect and Vision for main user workstations or Vision for user workstations from the

installation CD. This document is also in the documentation folder in the CD.

License file (main user workstation)

After that Fakta and Vision setup has the following steps The only additional feature in Main User Workstation installation is that Architect for building Fakta Database is also installed. Main user installations also needs a fakta.lic license file which is delivered

separately. For a new installation you get the license file via a diskette or e-mail, for an update the default is your old license file.

Company information The fields are empty if you don’t have serial number.

Company name and serial code must match in order to use HTML output. Default is the old

registration found. You can change them later inside Vision.

Select destination folder

Choose destination folder for all programs, help-files etc… Default destination folder is C:\Aditro\Fakta. If you want to change the folder, press Browse and select folder.

Select working folder

This folder is the place for your own reports, menus and files. Press Browse in order to change the folder.

Check setup information

Check the components and folders selected. Pressing Next starts the actual installation.

Install Visual C++ 2010 redistributables

If this version of Visual C++ redistributables are not installed, installation will start automatically:

Click Finish and installation contiues.

PDF Printer installation

Press OK.

Setup Complete

Check Fakta PDF Printer NUL: port

In most environments Amyuni setup adds the NUL: port but e.g. in Windows XP it have to be added manually to the “Fakta PDF Printer” properties:

In ports tab add a new local port NUL: and select it.

In Windows 8 and in none English versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7

Add user rights in Windows register path \HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\Software\Fakta PDF Printer. Include “Everyone” read/write. (In Finnish “Kaikki” Täydet oikeudet).

Using Architect with Oracle databases

If Architect is used to handle Oracle databases, the path of ...Fakta\bin folder have to be set to the Windows path.

Uninstall previous version of Vision and restart installation.
