Welcome to Faith United Methodist Church. It is our heart and desire to engage the community of Waseca with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, equip

those who respond to be the next generation of disciples of Jesus Christ and to empower them to go into the world as partners with God for the healing

of the world.

We welcome children and their families to our worship service. For those who need

the use of a nursery, for children ages birth through three yrs old, we have a well-

staffed and safe space for your children. It is to the right as you enter the church.

READING FROM PAUL’S LETTER TO THE CHURCH AT CORINTH I CORINTHIANS 15:12-14

15:12 Now if Christ is being preached as raised from the dead, how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead? 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 15:14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is futile and your faith is empty.

*READING FROM THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE......................Luke 24: 13-32 That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. And He said to them, “What is this conversation that you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad. Then one of them, named Cleopas, answered Him, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?” And He said to them, “What things?” And they said to Him, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how our chief priests and rulers delivered Him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him. But we had hoped that He was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened. Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, and when they did not find His body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that He was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but Him they did not see.” So they drew near to the village to which they were going. Please remember the garage sale and bake sale for Relay for Life. Set up will be on Friday night the 2nd. The garage sale is May 3rd, 2014. Items that we need are: clothes hangers, clothing, ladies hand bags, jewelry, lamps, any kind of furniture, any kind of tools. If you would like to donate please call Dave Baldini or Vada Dahnert. If anyone wants to bake items and donate them we would be happy to take them. We would like to try and double our intakes from last year. All proceeds go to Cancer. Fight the Fight!3
