Save The Date!

2019 Donum Fidei Auction Saturday, April 13

The Jayhawk Club

One crucial part of making our auction a success is the solicitation of goods and services. Did you know we solicit donations in a variety of ways? While many of our donations are acquired face-to-face or via a phone call, several businesses handle their donation requests 100% online! A simple online form or an email to a business can secure a fabulous item for our school’s Spring fundraiser. Who knew it could be so easy? If you are interested in volunteering for the auction by joining our solicitation team, please contact DFA Co-Chairs Angela Solomon and Sandy Newland at [email protected]. for more information.

Upcoming Gift-Gathering Parties Gift-gathering parties are currently being arranged, so be on the lookout for your invitation to one (or more!) of these fun get-togethers!

This year’s gift-gathering parties will be combined as follows:

Kindergarten and 2nd grade

1st and 3rd grades

4th and 5th grades

Middle school

Preschool (all sessions)

Alumni – Date TBA

What is a Gift-Gathering Party? Every year, the families of our Corpus Christi school community come together to help support our Donum Fidei Auction. Each group of classes will raise funds for a specific gift to donate to the auction. Parents of children in that class will be invited to attend a social event where they may contribute either themed items or monetary donations to the class gift. These socials are a great way to get to know other families and the parents of your children’s peers, so we encourage all parents to try to attend these fun get-togethers.

Corpus Christi AdvancED Corner The AdvancEd approach to improvement is not a one-size-fits-all solution. It is a

customized journey based on a set of expectations where all

schools have the potential to change by focusing on processes,

practices and actions to drive improvement.

Battle of the Books Coordinator Needed!

Come Join the Club!

Are you interested in learning a new skill? Do you like spending time with your friends? Do you like to take charge and do well? Come join us Tuesday, September 25th from 3:30 to

4:00 in Mrs. Powell's room to learn about our new student clubs! Students will hear from each of the club sponsors and learn more about how our clubs work. Each club will meet one Tuesday a month, so students have an opportunity to join more than one activity.

STUDENT CLUBS: Student Council (STUCO) sponsored by Mrs. Powell: Students in grades 6-8 will have

an opportunity to plan and organize fun activities, service activities, family activities, and more for the ENTIRE school to enjoy. STUCO is a great chance for students to take on leadership roles and spend time with friends.

Yearbook Club sponsored by Ms. Ruder: Students in grades 6-8 will work on organizing and creating pages for our end-of-the-year yearbook. Students will also have an opportunity to take pictures during school hours.

Chess Club sponsored by Mr. Huber: Students in grades 6-8 will learn and develop their chess strategy skills in a fun, encouraging environment. This is a great chance for students to work on their critical thinking skills.

Creative Writing Club sponsored by Mrs. Engleken: Students in grades 6-8 can learn more about writing poetry, prose, plays, song lyrics, graphic novels, and a variety of other genres in a creative, collaborative environment. Students will also learn about publishing and the writing process in a homework-free way!
