MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL

Over the past 50 years the Montreux Jazz Festival has become a singular rendez-vous in the world of music, taking place the first two weeks of July each year. Originally a pure jazz festival, it opened up in the 1970s and today presents artists of nearly every imaginable music style. Jazz remains an important part of the festival. Part of the festival's expansion was due to coproduction by Quincy Jones who brought many international artists in the early 1990s. The festival attracts an audience of more than 200,000 people. First two weeks of July, each year.

SEPTEMBRE MUSICAL

Well-known by classical music fans and lovers of exceptional events, the Septembre Musical is a festival of beautiful sounds performed by top flight symphonies and soloists in prestigious venues on the Swiss Riviera. The Auditorium Stravinski, the Théâtre de Veveyand even Chillon Castle are the unique settings hosting the Septembre Musical concerts.

For four days in December, Montreux becomes the French-speaking capital of laughter. The top comedy festival in French-speaking Switzerland, the Montreux Comedy Festival organizes gala evenings which are screened on most Swiss and French television stations. The Montreux Comedy Festival attracts the biggest names in French comedy to the shores of Lake Geneva for four days of top shows in the 2m2c StravinskiAuditorium.
