Facts about the Lions Club of Mona
President 2011-2012 ---LION DEBRAH RIGG
President’s Vision for the Lions Club Of Mona - 2011-2012
To create an atmosphere of camaraderie in the club whilst utilizing the knowledge and skills possessed by club members to anticipate and help meet the needs of the surrounding communities
To urge us members of the Lions Club of Kingston Mona to protect the Integrity of Lions Clubs International and ourselves within our respective communities.
Goals
To conduct special projects in the areas of autism and information technology
(Completion time January, 2012)
To develop and continue partnerships with community organizations in
conducting service projects (4 year extension of Wallenford Forest Reserve
maintenance and reforestation- Forestry Department, Vision Lawns to be created
to assist Jamaica Society for the Blind in getting sustainable funding- November
2011)
To create a training centre for students who wish to learn about the Optec 5000
vision screener (September 2011)
To conduct projects and activities in the District Governor’s core areas of youth,
cultural and community activities, health and wellness, Public Relations and LCIF
support.
T o solicit sponsorship and conduct fundraisers to carry out projects planned.

To empower youths with knowledge and skills for personal development through
the scouts and cadet programmes.
To retain members by having interesting and exciting projects and activities and
to engage new members by the same method.
The Lions Club Of Mona – Officially known as ‘Kingston Mona’
Kingston Mona was chartered June 8, 1994 with thirty members.
Charter President – Lion Milton Pinnock, MJF, PDG, the “mover and Shaker”Charter Secretary – Lion Cynthia Peart, PMJF
The Club grew by leaps and bounds over a very short period of time to be called the ‘premier club’ of the District.The Club has produced one District Governor, three Region Chairmen, four Zone Chairmen and a number of persons holding district positions.
The Club’s Vision Statement
The Lions Club of Mona through its committed quality membership, and a cohesive and supportive team, strives to create an outstanding image within the community by ensuring that our actions, projects and programmes improve the quality of life of the people we serve.
The Mission Statement
Our mission is to contribute to nation building through service to the less fortunate in our community and the development and efforts of our membership.
To achieve those goals we are committed to:
Dedicating our actions to achieving the tenets found in the Lions Objects and Code of Ethics.
Working in partnership with the communities we serve to identify their needs and to improve the quality of their lives;
Developing our membership through their participation in service projects, training and personal development activities;

Striving to achieve teamwork and continuous improvement in all our activities.
