WORKING ON MACHINERY

Lubricating, adjusting, examining of a machine should be done by trained workers

PROHIBITION OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Any women or child are not allowed to employed in any part of a factory for pressing cotton in

which a cotton opener is at work.

No person is permitted to enter in that space where dangerous fumes are likely to be presented .

POWER TO EXCLUDE CHILDREN

The provincial government has been empowered to make rules prohibiting the admission to any specified class of factories or to specify parts thereto, of children, who cannot be lawfully employed therein.

APPEALS

The manager of the factory on whom an order in writing by an inspector has been served under the provisions of this section then in this case occupier of the factory within thirty days can do an appeal against the provincial government or appointed authority. Rules made by the provincial government should be observed, confirm, modify against the order.

PENALTY AND PROCEDURES

Contravention to the provision of the factories Act, 1934, will attract penalties. The manager and the occupier of the factory shall be punishable with fine which may extend to Rs. 500. The proviso lays down that if both the manager and the occupier are convicted, the aggregate of the fine in respect of same contravention shall not exceed this amount. However, there are enhanced penalties in certain cases after previous conviction and relating to other matters.

SUPPLEMENTAL

It is legal requirement to display in every factory; a notice containing such abstracts of the factories act, 1934 and of the rules made there under in English and in the vernacular of the majority of the workers as the Provincial Government may prescribe. All the notices shall be displayed at some conspicuous place or near the main entrance to the factory and shall be maintained in clean and legible conditions.
