Facing bricks meet the growing demand for a contemporary facade design combined with a maximum of ecological thinking through their natural raw material and the continuing development in their production.

ACCENTS WITH CORNERS AND EDGES The perfect appearance of a house facade is the result of a combination of facing bricks with the appropriate specially shaped bricks. For example, the corners of the house can be rounded, the entrance to the house created to one's personal taste and windows and doors do not have to forgo a special border.

Of course, the use of specially shaped bricks doesn’t need to be merely limited to the facade, they can also be used as part of the paving in parking areas, gardens or parks as well as borders on flower beds, paths and other areas.

SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY Brick slips are not simply timelessly beautiful - by bringing the elements of glass, wood or steel into play, architectural masterpieces can be created, too. Whether in delightful contrast to other materials or "glowing" in the sunlight: Glazed and engobed brick slip facades create a particular flair and atmosphere all of their very own.

Glazes are available in many attractive colours and metallic looks. They decorate large areas or serve to provide focal accents. Engobed brick slips captivate with their extraordinary brilliance of colours which softly flow into one another and their finishes ranging from matt to shiny metallic effect.

Engobing is a procedure to create colour on ceramic surfaces. During this process the green brick is covered by dipping, showering or spraying with a mineral clay solution. Depending upon the method of coating, various colour effects can be produced. The solution is sintered during subsequent firing and provides a surface ranging from matt to semi-gloss.

The new Feldhaus | sintra brick slips look as though they have been made by hand with a natural aged appearance. Their structure and nuances of colour occur individually and the various types can be combined to your heart's content. But why exactly are these slip bricks so completely new and different?

From a technical point of view, Feldhaus | sintra brick slips are an absolute innovation since they are not sawn from a whole brick like conventional hand-moulded brick slips, rather they are pressed in a clay column like facing bricks and subsequently separated into individual pieces with a wire cutter. In this way, they are able to be manufactured to a thickness of 14 mm - without being cut from whole brick - and yet still possess the physical properties of a sturdy

extreme hardness and a water absorption of merely 2 to 6 percent, which is in contrast to original hand-moulded brick slips that absorb up to 20 percent of water. Detrimental environmental effects and dirt are unable to harm the brick slips, the surface retains its unique appearance as well as being colour-fast.

Feldhaus | sintra brick slips are approved for external thermal insulation compositesystems. They can be used on insulation panels with a joint alignment system thanks to their high dimensional accuracy (in contrast to original hand-moulded brick slips which have a high degree of unconformity in thickness, height and length).
