Material Handling System(MHS)

The Material Handling System (MHS) is an all-process

facility wherein the iron ores, coals, limestone, and other

materials brought in through ships, trains, or trucks

from mines are crushed, sorted, and mixed to suit the

purposes of the plant and are stored or transported. This

system can be used for material supplying facilities

operated at power generation plants, cement mills, and

other facilities.

Dephosphorization furnace diesel-engine transfer car (TLTC) at POSCO (Gwangyang) No.2 steel mill

A turn-key system wherein a new diesel engine carrier is installed to convey molten metal (300 tons) from the steel mill

No. 2 KR facility of Gwangyang Steel Works and dephosphorization furnace to the electric furnace.

The project includes the manufacture of main body, assembly, zero-load test, and trial runs.

There are reasons for the conveyor rollers produced by POSCO PLANTEC to boast of world

quality. POSCO PLANTEC has independently developed anti-dust sealing structure

applicable to bearing,and its design has been domestically registered. Furthermore, it

developed the labyrinth seal material jointly with the Research Institute of Industrial Science

and Technology, saliently improving performanceand durability. Annual production capacity

is 250,000 rollers, with some 400 types order-made.
