Start by completing the design questionnaire which is available on www.PPGMVP.com under the tools and services tab, Layout and 

Design.

This will allow you to collect your thoughts and guide you thru your project. 

Print out the entire tool kit. 

o

It is im

portant to note, prior to printing, m

ake sure any reference in the print dialog box to “fitting to page” is not selected

.  

This will keep the scale to 1” = 10’.  

Use the graph pages and a pencil to layout your building footprint.

Take a walk thru your existing facility and take note of the equipmen

t that would be utilized per dep

What’s coming over to the new

 facility and where is it  to be stored.  Think of 5 S when

 doing this exercise. 

Don’t forget to calculate your capacity and see if it m

eets your goals 

o

An easy calculation would be to take your monthly sales and divide it by the # of productive work stalls you have for a sales 

per stall #.   

Look at your future design and apply this # to your stall count for a rough

 capacity utilizing your curren

t 

processes.
