Grounds Dept won the Employee Assembly Staff Appreciation Award - Grounds was selected in appreciation of the hard work they do day in and day out to keep our campus beautiful, to keep our walkways clear and all the other things they do that are behind the scenes. The award was presented at the President’s Address to the Staff on October 9. 10th place in Sierra Club’s Cool Schools Ranking Employees of the Quarter for 3rd Quarter – Cindy Lockwood, Josh Antrum, Dan Pangburn and John Durbin Mann Library garden – received one of only 11 landscapes in the country to be certified by the Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES) “green” landscape system. PSCC Summit – just met last week - gathered the focus team members together to look at the progress from the last year and do action planning for 2013. Human Ecology Building was awarded Platinum LEED status; and was recognized as award winning design by the NYS AIA. Facilities has 3 Iron-“people” - They swam 2.4 miles - or the equivalent of 80 laps in the Teagle pool - crushed among 2,700 other swimmers in a freshwater lake. Then biked for 112 miles; and finished with a 26.2-mile run. span. Mike Allinger, Lorrie Tily and Mark Valleley accomplished all 3 within a 17-hour time in August’s Lake Placid Ironman.
