    WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Friends make the world a better place, but what makes a ‘good’ friend?

For these games split the group into smaller teams.

Famous Friends: Cut the cards into the individual characters and spread them upside down on the floor. Children should take turns turning over two cards to try and get a matching pair of friends. Who can get the most pairs?

GooGood Friend / Rubbish Friend Game: Cut out the words on the activity sheet. Spread them across the floor. One at a time, a child should run to the end of the room, pick up one of the words and decide if it makes a good friend (place on a table) or a rubbish friend (throw in a bin). You could do this in teams as part of a game.

FinisFinish by going through the ‘good friend’ words and talking about some of those qualities. How can we show these qualities to our friends at school/BB?

Virtual: For pairs, a leader should have the cards. Number the backs of the cards, so children can call out the numbers for the cards they wish to turn over. For the second activity, hold up each word and children should vote on if it makes a good or rubbish friend.
