NOT AGAINST US Like Moses before him, Jesus corrects his disciples’ misunder-standing of the gift of the Spirit. They saw people who were not of their company casting out demons and doing other works such as Jesus had done. Jesus points out that no one who does a good deed in his name can be opposed to him at the same time. He goes on to point out the importance of the “little ones,”: the poor, simple people, children, the meek ones who are not im-portant in the world. It is to them that he was sent, not to the wealthy and the self-righteous. He underscores the importance of small works done in faith, as well as big works like driving out demons. “Anyone who gives you a cup of water . . . because you belong to Christ . . . will surely not lose his reward” (Mark 9:41). God builds the coming reign little by little in our actions, however small and unassuming, when they are done out of love of God and neighbor.

Join us Sundays after 8:00 a.m. Mass for coffee and donuts in the SCHOOL. You are also welcome to stay for any of our four adult study groups at the school.

In case of death, please contact the Parish Office directly in order to make the necessary arrangements. Funeral meals are suspended until the Church reopens and we are able to use the Parish Hall. During these months of renovation in lieu of the meal following a funeral Mass, the parish will send food to the home at the request of the family.

Once again St, Edward Hispanic Ministry is sponsoring a Raffle in support of the Annex Building Remodel. Drawing will be held on

October is Respect Life Month – Praying the Rosary Before Masses Whether it lasts for a brief moment or for a hundred years, each of our lives is a good and perfect gift from God. God invites us to embrace the lives we have been given, for as long as they are given. We are meant to support each other, serve each other in humility, and walk together in times of suffering. To encourage and strengthen us, we will be praying a Rosary one-half hour before each weekend Mass in October.

A Need for Help The Outreach Center needs volunteers to assist with providing meals to the hungry: Preparing meals from 8-9:30 am, any day of the week or serving the meals from 9:30 am-12 pm. If you can volunteer just one day a week with either or both, that would make such a difference. No experience is required. All volunteers must complete an online diocesan Safe Environment program. Please consider passing on some of the blessings you have received to others by sharing a little of your time.
