    This tutorial is going to explain how to fix pulseaudio completely and the video/audio playbackissues of V ! "edia Player# $ope this helps# The time scheduling function is still a bit bugged

    and gives off audio issues % noticed# &o unless you want ' seconds of chopping( skipping( andgarbling each time you start an audio app( we)re not going to use it# *lso( if you)re fine with that(can live with the issue and like how it makes Pulse*udio less !P+ intensive( then skip the stepwhere we disable time scheduling in this tutorial# ,-ou can disable it later if needed after you)redone.&o let)s get started#

    Fixing PulseAudio: "e #ant no less thanperfe$tion%resh off of an upgraded install % noticed many things were broken with the audio( so we)regoing to uninstall Pulse*udio first#

    %n a terminal( type the following:!ode:

    su -yum remove pulseaudio

    &estart your $omputer $ompletely no#%

    0ow that you)re back( open a terminal and type the following:!ode:

    su -yum install pulseaudio alsa-plugins-pulseaudio pulseaudio-esound-compatpulseaudio-libs pulseaudio-libs-glib2 pulseaudio-module-zeroconf pulseaudio-libs-zeroconf xmms-pulse pulseaudio-module-gconf wine-pulseaudio xine-lib-pulseaudio pulseaudio-utils pulseaudio-module-bluetooth gst-mixerpadevchooser paman paprefs pavucontrol pavumeter

    This will reinstall Pulse*udio and all the extras we need to work with#

    1&kip this step if you can live with time2scheduling( skipping is not recommended30ext( run the following as root: ,or open 4/etc/pulse/default#pa4 manually as root.!ode:

    gedit /etc/pulse/default.pa

    and replace the line:Quote:

    load2module module2hal2detect tsched56

    save your changes# This will disable time2scheduling#

    0ext( run the following as root: ,or open 4/etc/pulse/daemon#conf4 manually as root.!ode:

    gedit /etc/pulse/daemon.conf

    *fter that( in the device chooser( select the 4Volume !ontrol4 option in the menu and gothrough each tab making sure none of the streams are muted#

    0ow( go to the Configuration tab and for *nternal Audio + Profiles set it to the appropriateprofile until you hear audio from an audio file# %f you)re hearing audio already then it is probablyset to the proper profile already# =xperiment with the profiles using an audio file of some sort(playing it# % used "ichael >ackson)s ,?#%#P.

    The wrong profile means no audio will come from your sound card at all# =xample: % didn)t hearany sound because my profile was set to digital and not analogue( because analogue is what mysound card supports#

    %f you are not hearing any audio at all then you need to check the last @ routines we Aust went

    through# ,The advanced volume controls for mutes( ;efaults of the ;evice !hooser( volumecontrol in the device chooser for wrong settings.

    0ow( change the Sho# settings option to All and go to *nput / Code$s ' A$$ess Modules ' File 7!hange the $a$hing value to 1233 ,there are 666 milliseconds in a second.

    ou can ad#ust this a little higher or lower later. &s long as it's *** or above, it should be fine. (Iultimately ended up lowering mine to around +**, personally)

    0ow( that video % had you downloadF 0ow it)s time to test V !# Open the video file in V ! andpress play( watching it from beginning to end# -ou are watching it for things like glitches in theaudio and the audio cutting off half way through the video# %f everything is fine with the audioand video( you)re doneB %f not( continue to the next part of this tutorial#,%f it)s an audio issue still then you may want to check your settings or open a support thread.-ou can try playing the video and skipping around back2and2forth to see if the audio crashesout( but it shouldn)t with the settings in this tutorial#

    %f there is screen tearing in the video ,slices in the video images. you may want to try changingthe video output settings# ,assuming your !P+/GP+ is fast enough to handle the video.%n0ools ' Preferen$es ,&imple. go to the Video tab and change )isplay: utput to variousoptions and play the video until the tearing stops# ,experiment. % have mine set to OpenGbecause % have OpenG drivers installed for my video card#
