The Tim Winton Award for Young Writers encourages

creativity, originality and imagination providing a great

opportunity to develop youth creative writing skills.

All Western Australian school students aged between five and eighteen years are invited to submit an original creative piece of writing no longer than 2000 words.

Entries should be fiction, written in prose and be the original work of the entrant.

To enter visit www.subiaco.wa.gov.au to complete your online entry form and attach your story in Word Document format.

Entries are judged individually in five age categories from lower primary to upper secondary. The judges are looking for creativity of theme, the development of the story and the quality (not quantity) of the writing.
