You’ll find plenty to do at Founders Hall in June. Learn about Meals on Wheels, and discover this summer’s best beach

reads. Battle of the Chefs on Sunday, June 3 is an exciting culinary showdown that benefits Founders Hall. We once again have three talented and fun chefs competing. I promise that you will be both entertained and well-fed at this fun event.

Because of some confusion surrounding the May 15th storm, I would like to try to clarify our position on weather-related closings. For the safety of all, we usually close when Ridgefield Public Schools close due to weather. Sometimes, however, schools close because of extended power outages, but roads are safe for travel. If Founders Hall has power and roads are safe, we will open. In that situation, some classes may be canceled because of instructors’ travel issues.

It’s difficult to have a cancellation policy that makes sense in every situation. We post weather-related closings on our website (founders-hall.org), Facebook page, and phone message.

Do you know that Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield prepares and delivers nutritious and delicious dinners and lunches to any resident who

cannot prepare his or her own meals, including those who have just short-term needs? Come learn more about this incredible agency from several of its board members and its staff nutritionist, Meg Whitbeck (Registered Dietitian & Nutrition Educator) from the RVNA. They will tell you about some recent program changes and new promotions. In addition, they will serve food samples of their meals. Meg will also discuss nutrition, supplements and how to achieve wellness and longevity goals through healthy eating.

Together, they raised $4,200, which will ease the cost of everyday items that benefit us all.
