This week we will be reading two fairy tales in

this section. We will learn about the

characteristics of fairy tales, and try writing a fairy tale of your own.

fairy: a tiny imaginary being in human form who has magical powers.

hero: the main male character in a story, poem, or play.

culture: the customs, beliefs, and ways of living that belong to a group of people

Cinderella We will discuss what Cinderella you

remember hearing.

We will watch four stories of different versions of Cinderella.

1) We will be discussing stereotypes. You will be working in pairs (the hat will assign you) to read and analyze fairy tales.

2) You will be working in groups to write a fairy tale. Everyone must participate, points are given!

3) Listen and read along to the c.d. of Yeh-Shen.

1) You will be working in pairs (the hat will assign you) to read and fill out the story map for Yeh-Shen.

2) You will be working with a partner to sequence the fairy tale “The Three Little Pigs” and you may add pictures.

3) Then you will sequence Cinderella on your own by making a chain of events.
