What does the mean the word of “ Hybrid ’’

Hybrid is a cross between two separate races or cultures. A hybrid is something that is mixed and hybrid is simply mixture.

Everyday life is specific to Location and Cultures. Everyday life in Manhattan in New York is not same as the Everyday life in Bangalore or guwahati. So we see that in basic structure of Everyday life in the cities.

The Cultural artifacts and event of food or fashion are structured differently for different location.

Everyday life generates multiple identities. One of the most significant contributions of cultural studies is the notion that both people and places have multiple identities. Place and people have become increasingly mobile ,multicultural and hybridized.

Everyday life today is a hybrid of the local and global. No pure local culture exists in metropolises any more. Even where local ethic is marked it is part of a global consumer market.

Everyday life gives us multiple identities . A same applies to places where a single street showcases all the world’s leading lifestyle brands. Ex :- M.G. Road in Bangalore, Or Banjara hills in Hyderabad.

1) About the clothes :-

We wear the Fabric shirt of Egyptian cotton with the styling of European Zodiac line which is made in China by the American Country.

The Nokia is a Finnish company. Our Sunglasses also made in Italian style.

2) About the food :- When we go to any

hotel we find many types of pizza like Maxican Pizza , Italian pizza, Domino’s pizza , brazian pizza , Vegetarian pizza. The Pizza is a popular food of the America. So, Mc Donald’s uses the local taste to modify its menu.

3)About the Entertainment : we can see here mixture of south – North

Indian hybrid culture in everyday life. Local tastes to modify its menu.

4) About the Fashion :-

The Tommy Hilfiger T-shirt and Levi’s jeans are combined with an Indian dupatta or a pair of Kolhapuri slippers to create hybrid fashion system that is neither purely western capitalist product nor Indian.

our Language is hybrid of so many language like In day to day life We speak Guajarati language with the use of english language. So we can said that Our language is mixture of many multiple languages.

So, we observe here contemporary everyday life is a mixture of global and local. Contemporary globalization is also a mode of cultural exchange, appropriation and marketing .

The global cultural artifact is indigenized and given a local flavor.

Everyday life now adds local meanings to global cultural artifacts.
