Crochet pattern: Amigurumi – Crochet eyeball

We crochet the eyeball from front to

back first in circle rounds and then in spiral rounds. That sounds more

complicated than it is. Let´s just get started right away!

black:

1st round: magic ring with 1 lifting chain

and 5 single crochet (us, uk: double

crochet), close round with 1 slip stitch =

6 stitches

color (eg. blue):

2nd round: 1 lifting chain, all single

crochet (us, uk: double crochet), double

each stitch, replace last stitch by 1 slip

stitch = 12 stitches

3rd round: 1 lifting chain, all single

crochet (us, uk: double crochet), double

every 2nd stitch, replace last stitch by 1

slip stitch = 18 stitches

white:

4th round: no lifting chain, all single

crochet (us, uk: double crochet), always

crochet only into the back loop of each

stitch, double every 3rd stitch, do not

replace last stitch by a slip stitch, instead

insert a marker thread, continue

crocheting spiral rounds = 24 stitches

5th round: from now crochet normal into

both loops of each stitch, all single

crochet (us, uk: double crochet), double

every 4th stitch = 30 stitches

6th round: all single crochet (us, uk:

double crochet), double every 5th stitch

= 36 stitches

7th – 13th round: all single crochet (us,

uk: double crochet), each stitch one stitch

= 36 stitches

14th round: all single crochet (us, uk:

double crochet), crochet together every

5th and 6th stitch (decrease) = 30

stitches

15th round: all single crochet (us, uk:

double crochet), crochet together every

4th and 5th stitch (decrease) = 24

stitches

16th round: all single crochet (us, uk:

double crochet), crochet together every

3rd and 4th stitch (decrease) = 18

stitches

17th round: all single crochet (us, uk:

double crochet), crochet together every

2nd and 3rd stitch (decrease) = 12

stitches

completely fill and stuff the eyeball

18th round: all single crochet (us, uk:

double crochet), crochet together every

1st and 2nd stitch (decrease) = 6 stitches

cut the thread generous, pull off the loop,

close remaining opening, secure and

wave in thread ends

Now we have finished crocheting the eyeball and we start to spice it up a little

bit.

 

 

 

First lets add some facets to the iris,

with some lines that run from the inside to the outside. For this you use a blunt

darning needle and embroidery thread, darning thread or crochet yarn with a

color nearly simular as your iris. The color should be slightly lighter or darker,

but not to deviate to much.

The you embroider with white yarn a

few reflections to the pupil and the iris. Embroider a small spot on the black pupil

and a slightly larger oval on the inner part of the iris.

Now you still embroider with red yarn

a few veins to the eyeball. Begin always near the center of the back and draw

jagged lines foreward to the iris. Then you embroider some branches to the main

line. The wires should end short before the iris and do not touch it. This you are

doing once around, thereby 3-5 strands of wires will arise, that are evenly

distributet around the eyball.
