Supplier Relationship Management is:
Strategically planning for, and managing, all interactions with organizations that supply goods and/or services.
SRM entails creating closer, more collaborative relationships with key suppliers in order to uncover and realize new value and reduce risk of failure.
Typically involves developing better tools and methods for communicating
Includes KPI techniques for monitoring two-way performance and identifying areas for improvement

Suppliers come in all shapes and sizes!
Connecting with Suppliers with a wide range of technical Capabilities is often inconvenient or not possible.
Complex integration requirements
High development and support costs
No standard process to integrate external data across multiple platforms
Takes too long to add new partners or data sources
Disparate security technologies: VPNs, Firewalls etc.
Small Suppliers Short on resources or expertise
Suppliers not always willing to exchange data
Not as simple as ‘If you don’t integrate, we will go elsewhere’

WorkCenter Best Practices
1. How are WorkCenters being Received at Westar and are they adding Value to Users?
2. What Plans do you have for improving them?
3. What would you have done differently when building out the WC’s as part of your upgrade project?
4. How would you make the WorkCenter utilities in PTs better?
5. How are you managing the administration of WorkCenters and is admin. a pain point?

28
WorkCenter Best Practices
Select a Pilot WorkCenter for initial rollout o Measure User Adoption before rolling out others
Sort out Administration Responsibilities ahead of timeo End Users vs. IT.
o Train on WorkCenter Admin accordingly.
o Have Admins help Buildout the WC’s during implementation
Don’t over build….o Identify Mission critical Alerts, Pagelets etc. and go from there.
Implement fewer WorkCenters and utilize PS Security to manage what the user seeso Goals could probably be accomplished with 3 or 4 WC’s

29
WorkCenter Best Practices
If Rolling out to external suppliers….
o Establish Terms and Conditions for Usage
• Ensures that information is viewed and any associated actions are within the legal framework of the supplier & buyer relationship
