Automation Bundle

Rules-Based Automation

Kodak Prinergy Rules-Based Automation Software (RBA) is workflow automation based on monitoring for an event, and when that event occurs, performing an action. With RBA, manual workflow steps can be turned into programmed actions. Hundreds of events and ac-tions can be created.

RBA can used with the Kodak InSite Prepress Portal System, Kodak Web to Print Solutions and/or digital presses, to create a completely automated workflow.

Digital Blueline Proofing (Signature Booklet)

Designed for creating 1-up or 2-up reader-order proofs of the page set positions from an imposition plan layout.

The signature booklet is created by de-imposing the imposition plan layout into individual pages, RIPing the pages, and then outputting them, in reader order, to a duplexing laser printer or file.

PDF File Editor is a Prinergy workflow feature that facilitates the check-out, conversion and editing of files using Adobe Illustrator software, and Adobe Photoshop software. While the file is being edited it is locked within the Prinergy software, disallowing a user to output an old file. Once editing is complete the edited file is easily checked back into Prinergy workflow and processed. PDF File Editor is a site license allowing all Prinergy workflow users the ability to edit files.

Layered PDF Versioning

Layered PDF Versioning (LPV) enables multiple vari-ations of a publication within one PDF file, to simplify and reduce errors in multiple-language production, and regional versioning of a document. The content that is shared among all versions remains constant, while the layers contain versioned content.

LPV is flexible in its input file requirements and efficient in its ability to output multiple versions without manual workarounds. It simplifies platemaking, by eliminating the need for physical or digital double-burns. It removes the potential for errors caused by turning separations on and off. All versions and proofs are derived from one process. Regional-versioned workflows are supported. With multiple page assignments per page set position.

Advanced Preflighting

Kodak Prinergy Business Link Software

A Web browser interface for the creation and viewing of detailed production reports, including reports on materi-als, time, and processes by job or time period.

Business Link can also connect bi-directionally with qualified MIS systems using JDF/JMF, to exchange prod-uct and process-related JDF job data and allow the complete automation of job creation and setup in Prinergy Workflows. Imposition information from an MIS can be automatically imported and/or used to create impositions (requires the Connect Automation and Connectivity Bundle).

Data gathered can be sent to an MIS for automated materials tracking and distribution of status information.

Packaging Layout Automation

Adds the ability to automatically created complex packaging layouts further reducing operating costs by completely automating the creation of complex packaging production layouts eliminate mistakes by us-ing validation rules to compare input parameters against “known” manufacturing requirements stored within the Prinergy database. Reduce operating costs thru the re-use of existing templates or previously used produc-tion layouts.
