– Xi is a client server for data exchange between level 2 (control system level) and Level 3 (business / MES level)

– Xi supports the same servers OPC DA, HDA and AE

Unlike OPC, – XI is a secure means for real-time and historical data transfer

between DeltaV and 3rd party systems and applications– Firewall friendly using HTTP/HTTPS– Uses secure Web services
