The EraOr how did the model come into existence?

The Mercedes-Benz 230 represented a luxury class vehicle as a top performance of the German automobile industry in a dark time; priority here was being given to arms production. Vehicle purchases were subsidized if the vehicles were made available in the mobilization case. Constructive differences compared to predecessor models were the pendulum axle suspended on coil springs, two transversely-mounted leaf springs on the front axle and hydraulic brakes on all four wheels. The vehicles were manu-factured in Mannheim, which was later completely destroyed during the war. Back then in its class, it was the model of success and sold considerably better than the competing models such as the Adler 2.5, Wanderer W 23 and 26 and Stoewer Sedina. The vehicle was considered to be the most beautiful kind of its class and especially became famous for its high production quality. The basic price of the 4-door limousine was DM 5,875. Up to the armament-limited end of production in 1941, 20,900 copies of the type 230 had been produced thereby contributing significantly to the economic success of Daimler-Benz AG in those years.

Since it has a right-hand drive, the vehicle has spent most of its time in the UK according to registration documents before it came to its current owner to Estonia. The vehicle was restored technically and visually. The quality of the vehicle in terms of optics and technology is probably above the standard of the former factory delivery.

In its excellent condition, the vehicle can be used at any time for smaller and larger trips. With its robust technology, reasonable average speeds can still be achieved even over long distances.
