27TH INTERNATIONAL TOURISM EXCHANGE AND TOURISM FAIR, EQUIPMENT FOR HOTELS AND CATERING ‐ METUBES

44th International Food Fair will be held in Budva from 22nd to 24th March 2018 The Adriatic Fair will mark 2018 in a special manner, since it is the year in which the Fair marks its 50th anniversary of successful operations. The jubilee 50th Trade Fair season will start with the exhibition event with the longest tradition – the International Food Fair. Hence, the International Food Fair will be held for the 44th consecutive time. Simultaneously with the International Food Fair, the 23rd Ecology Fair and 27th International Tourism Exchange and Tourism Fair, Equipment for Hotels and Catering – METUBES will be held, which will provide exhibitors with the opportunity to exploit the benefi ts of the synergies of exhibition

events. The Fair has prepared new programmes for the jubilee, keeping abreast of new trends, but simultaneously remembering its roots of its 50 year-long tradition. A deep programme accompanying the exhibition events, in addition to new creative solutions in the exhibition area, is intended to meet the requirements of all users of services provided by the exhibition industry, both participants and visitors. Satisfi ed exhibitors and visitors to the Fair are our corporate slogan, which has been confi rmed by an immense number of both users of our services and visitors recorded across the last fi ve decades. We are hereby inviting you to become involved in the marking of our

jubilee by contributing your ideas and suggestions and participating in the creation of the forthcoming exhibition events, which are intended to provide a backbone for the future decades of successful operations. In addition to the confi rmation of quality work performed over the last fi ve decades, the international aspect of exhibition events needs to be highlighted, as well as the membership of all reputable international exhibition associations (CEFA, UFI and EASE, to name a few).

PARTICIPATE AT THE INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR AND BE A PART OF THE 50 YEAR-LONG STORY WHICH WILL CONTINUE!

The International Tourism Exchange and Tourism Fair, Equipment for Hotels and Catering - METUBES, organised and hosted by Adriatic Fair, will be held from 22nd to 24th March 2018, the year which marks its 50th anniversary. This exhibition is intended for the presentation of the tourism potential of both Montenegro and the region, as well as bringing together all those involved in the hotel and hospitality industry and the presentation of the programmes planned for the forthcoming tourist season. The dates for the Fair have been carefully selected, just before the start of the tourist season, without interfering with other important exhibition events in the region and beyond.

This year, METUBES is marking its 27th anniversary, a period

of business activity marked with eff ort and committed work. Consequently, it

is aiming to present its staff members, both those

originating from Montenegro and from other European countries, to the general public, whilst simultaneously promoting Montenegro as a country and the potential in this fi eld. METUBES has been recognised as a Fair with extremely successful business tradition and immense business potential and it will yet again host all those interested in participating. A positive business image and a strong tradition of one of the most important exhibition events in the region show the importance of appearing at this Fair. The Fair traditionally records a

large number of visitors and is attended by representatives from the tourism industry, media and professional customers both from Montenegro and the region. Due to the fact that it is held just before the summer tourism season, it provides an opportunity for exhibitors to eff ectively meet signifi cant commercial objectives within a short time-frame. The Tourism Fair is an event with a special signifi cance for Montenegro, both as a destination and an emissive market that attracts all those who provide their programmes in the region and beyond.

ABOUT THE ADRIATIC FAIR

TO THE FAIR WITH SUCCESS No. 132

1968 saw the completion of the fi rst stage of the construction project of the Adriatic Fair premises and fi ve pavilions were constructed in the same year. The second stage of the project included the construction of the central hall covering an area of 4,000 m2, yet unfortunately, it was not implemented. The investor was Budva Municipal Assembly and the investment was worth 3 million dinars, whilst the loan was granted by the Investment Bank in what at the time was Titograd (now Podgorica). Irrespective of the fact that the construction of the exhibition halls had not been fully completed, the International Tourism Fair was held in 1968. It was opened by Vojo Brinić,

who at that time was the President of Budva Municipal Assembly, and saw the participation of 80 local and international exhibitors and recorded around 100,000 visitors. Six exhibition events were held in 1969 with the participation of 420 local and international exhibitors and visited by over 150,000 visitors.Thus, it was obvious from inception that the foundation of the Adriatic Fair in Budva was an excellent idea, primarily due to its importance for tourism, as well as for the overall economy of Montenegro.Over the fi ve decades of its business activity, Adriatic Fair has become the venue for bringing together the most successful businessmen and organisations, as well as the venue for the presentation of the latest achievements, innovations and establishing important business contacts. It is a venue which continuously records an increasing number of both exhibitors and visitors, as well as rising sales of a wide range of products.

The Adriatic Fair currently organises 12 specialised exhibition events.Due to the large number of international business delegations, the presence of reputable

international companies, as well as its media coverage, Adriatic Fair provides an entry point for doing business in Montenegro. Through its membership of international exhibition organisations UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry), CEFA (Central European Fair Alliance), EASE (Exhibition Association of Southeast Europe), Adriatic Fair strengthens both Montenegro as a country and its national economy.

. We would like to go back to the objec-tives of participating in trade fairs. The importance of exhibiting at trade fairs is always being emphasised in profes-sional literature and Internet sources, both concerning the maintaining of re-lationships with the existing clients and business partners and from the aspect of establishing relations with new, poten-tial partners. Going back to your list of objectives that we have recently started making and enriching, how would

you defi ne the objectives concerning existing clients or partners?. Concerning the objectives linked with your existing customers and partners, I suggest you include two sub-goals in the list and these are as follows: a) to

increase sales (one always needs to remember the fact that

long-term objectives of trade fairs are exclusively and primarily linked with the improvement of

sales performance) and b) organisation of meet-

ings with the leading fi gures, decision-makers, your exist-

ing clients and partners.

You need to exploit the opportunity and personally establish important contacts at the trade fair.

. Certainly, trade fairs are excellent opportunities for establishing new contacts.. Nevertheless, during a trade fair you need to achieve other goals, in addition to establishing contacts and exchanging business cards. During discussions and conversations, you need to identify your company’s potential to new representatives and distributors. You need to become involved in business conversations, rather than merely establish business contacts.
