Could you improve your vocabulary?

• Use a dictionary or google to find synonyms

• Did you include time connectives?

• Ensure you’ve included year 5 and 6 words

Technical Vocabulary:

COVID-19: A new flu-like illness caused by a virus called coronavirus

Self-isolation: Stay at home and don’t have any contact with other people

Social Distancing: Avoid going outside and if you go outside, you must stay more than 2m (6ft) apart from others

NHS: The National Health Service (hospitals, doctors surgeries etc.) which is funded by the public

Flatten the Curve: reducing the daily number of new cases of the disease so hospitals don’t become too busy

Pandemic: a disease which is spread over a whole country or the world

Outbreak: a sudden occurrence of something unwelcome such as war or disease

Global: world-wide

WHO: World Health Organisation who monitor and give advice to the outbreak

Symptoms: an indication or sign that you have a virus or illness; it is like a feature

Asymptomatic: showing no symptoms

Is any of your work lacking detail or description?

•Read your work aloud to yourself. Have you included lots of detail? Have you fully explained each concept?•Read your work aloud to somebody at

home. Do they think it’s clear?• Look at the WAGOLL again. Can you

magpie anything from the WAGOLL to add more detail?

Now it is time to write it up neatly and in your best handwriting.

You could find a nice writing sheet online (such as on Twinkl)

or you could get a plain piece of paper, draw a boarder and then put a lined piece of paper

behind it (like a line guide).Decorate the margin and add in some diagrams

and illustrationsI can’t wait to see them when we go back to

school!
