Paragliding will take place on the top of Zighy Mountain next to our signature restaurant Sense on the Edge. This is an experience not to be missed! Our Paraglider will take you around the edge of the mountain range in Zighy Bay where you can explore the Bay from 293m upwards, and enjoy the beautiful views before landing on our sandy beach. Please wear close-toed shoes or durable sandals on this tandem paraglide experience.

Need a change of scenery? Try mountain biking. You will explore the Hajar Mountains with their wide variety of plants and animals. Downhill Dash and Qasr al Zaiba excursions offer exciting up-close glimpses of Oman’s rugged environment. The Experiences Team also has mountain bikes available for you to explore Zighy Bay. Please wear your helmet at all times, as the roads are busy and the gravel is loose, your safety is our concern.

Sabatyn 4X4

VAST MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS YOUR JOURNEY AWAITS

This easy trek explores the village of the Sabatyn plateau. After a scenic one hour 4x4 drive from Zighy Bay, we reach the plateau 1200 meters above sea level. We then continue to Sabatyn; this village stretches along a mountainside with wonderful views down to Wadi Al Bih. The village contains an abundance of petroglyphs, stone towers and ancient houses that were once home to farmers tending their large terraced fields. After exploring Sabatyn we climb up to a small village with its cooling subterranean air stream. We continue our trek to our vehicles for the scenic drive home. Also enjoy our Sunset Sabatyn excursion: Enjoy a winding drive to the Sabatyn plateau. After finding the perfect spot you will have a selection of canapés and sparkling wine over a campfire as you watch the sun setting over the spectacular mountains.

Wadi Wurrayah canyoning

A 45 minute drive south along the coast brings our first stop at the oldest functioning mosque in the United Arab Emirates. After a brief tour we finish our drive, continuing on foot to a waterfall for your first dip into a fresh water spring. From here we trek into the stunning canyons, climb and swim through rocky gorges and stunning terrain along the way. We will stop for refreshments before we retrace our steps back to our cars and home.

Aqaba Lima Trek

AN AMAZING WALK EVEN BETTER SIGHTS

Your excursion begins at Zighy Marina, a forty-five minute boat ride along the spectacular Musandam coastline brings us to Aqaba fishing village situated in a serene bay. After exploring the village, we start our walk along the coastal pathway. Our trail takes us along the ancient path between villages, just inches from the sea. Eventually the trail ascends the peninsula towards the main town of Aqaba. We continue to follow the trail past hundreds of abandoned houses, graveyards, a mosque and fort with a unique underground jail, as we work our way to the top. Many of these dwellings still contain pottery, incense burners and other artefacts. The trek continues down the other side of the peninsula to the town of Lima. As we enter the town we take a rest at a date plantation where we can cool off in natural springs as parakeets fly overhead. We continue on to Lima harbour where the boat is waiting to take us to Zighy Bay.

Zighy Bay is well known as a small fishing bay. Enjoy a fresh speed boat excursion to Dibba Port before hopping into a waiting vehicle with your Experiences host. Tour throughout the town of Dibba, taking in local sights and a small fort before heading back to the resort.

There are many hikes to take around picturesque Zighy Bay: Smuggler’s Bay Hike, Destination Spa Hike, or even up and over the mountain towards Wadi al Khamsi. Our guided experiences make sure that you take the right goat path through the mountain. Be sure to bring proper footwear as the rocks can be loose.
