EXPEDITIO-CenterforSustainableSpatialDevelopmentisanNGObasedinKotor(Montenegro),foundedin1997bysixstudentsofarchitectureattheUniversityofBelgrade.Sincethattime,EXPEDITIOhasimplementedmorethan100projectsandactivitiesaddressingvariousissuesofsustainablespatialdevelopment,suchas:urbanandruralplanningandmanagement,culturalheritageandlandscape,sustainablecities,publicspaces,greenarchitectureetc.

EXPEDITIO’smissionistoencouragesustainablespatialdevelopmentinMontenegroandSEEregionthroughactivityinthefieldsofsustainablearchitecture,culturalheritage,urbanplanningandthroughprojectsthatencourageoveralldevelopmentofthecivilsociety.

ThemaintypesofactivitiesconductedbyEXPEDITIOincludecross-disciplinaryengagementregardingurbansustainability,suchas:developingstudiesandresearches,organizingevents(workshops,discussions,lectures,seminars,exhibitions…),advocacyactivities,campaigns,publishing,actionsinpublicspacesetc.

ThestructureofEXPEDITIOconsistsof:Assembly,Boardofdirectors,ExecutiveBoard,MembersandVolunteers.EXPEDITIOhas5full-timeemployeesandanumberofoccasionalcollaborators.EXPEDITIOheadofficeisbasedinKotor(Montenegro)andalsohasabranchofficeinBelgrade(Serbia).

EXPEDITIOhasbeeninvolvedinvariousparticipatoryplanninganddecisionmakingprocessesandwasrepresentedintheNationalCouncilforSustainableDevelopmentofMontenegro.EXPEDITIOisanactivememberofseveralregionalandEUnetworks,suchas:CivilScape,BalkanExpressNetwork,EuropaNostraandtheSouthEastEuropean(SEE)HeritageNetwork.
