Expanding Your Comfort Zone: A Self-Care Yoga & Meditation Retreat October 13-15, 2017 Join Ali Alexander and Debra Black for a nourishing weekend retreat of yoga asana practice and meditation. Our physical yoga practices will be conducted in flowing, yin and restorative styles. We will be practicing meditation both as a stand-alone practice as well as in some of the movement sessions. The intention of the weekend is to recognize the places both in our physical-body layer and in our mental/emotional layers where we are limiting our ability to live fully in the world. By recognizing where our limitations exist, we have an opportunity to explore those boundaries and see if we can expand safely beyond that place. The weekend will provide time each day for personal reflection, interaction with nature around the centre and there will also be a set time for personal questions or inquiries with Ali and Debra. Retreat Costs & Payment Early Bird (prior to July 14/17) $350 Regular $425 Payment options include: Interac Email Transfer and Visa or Mastercard For payment please contact Debra Black at 416-571-3933 or [email protected] *There is a limited availability of single-occupancy at an additional cost of $150 **Non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to secure your spot. ***Full payment required by September 15/17

Biographies Ali Alexander After a career in the corporate business world as both an employee and consultant, in 2005 I took my first yoga teacher training certification and began the path to becoming a full time yoga teacher and soon yoga therapist. In addition to that first training in vinyasa style (Jivamukti Yoga), I have trained in Restorative and Yin Yoga and am in the final stages of my training in Yoga Therapy. In addition to teaching publically and privately in Toronto, I am on the faculty of both the Soghrati Yoga Yin Teacher Training and the YogaTree Teacher Training programs. I have a strong background in academic philosophy and have undertaken a great deal of organized and independent study in yoga philosophy (Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads), Buddhism and Daoism. I incoporporate all aspects of yoga practice (asana, meditation, pranayama and philosophy) in my teaching.

Debra Black I am an avid fan, student and teacher of Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, poetry, Indian philosophy, Buddhism and meditation, based in Toronto. I am a registered yoga teacher with the Canadian Yoga Alliance, having studied vinyasa flow with Seane Corn and restorative yoga with Marla Joy Meenakshi as well as other amazing teachers. But yin is really my thing. I have started additional training with California-based yin teacher Sarah Powers and have done two six-day silent retreats and an 80+ hours Yin/ Yang/Meditation Teacher Training with Powers and her husband Ty in Greece. I am now officially enrolled in the 500-hour teacher training program with Sarah, Ty and their Insight Yoga Institute. I have 50 plus hours training in yin yoga with Tracey Soghrati and did an advanced yin training with Soghrati and TCM practitioner Tony Tavares. Am now an ex-reporter with the Toronto Star. I am passionate about all things yogic and poetic and am interested in justice and politics.
