This is an advert made by the charity called Shelter, this is a very deep and has a very strong impact on the audience. The reason why it is such a strong advert because of it’s simplicity and minimal use of words which makes it easy and quick to read but it is very meaningful. The main text on this advert says Blanket which is next to the image of a roll of newspaper, this suggests to the audience that this is what homeless people have to use, it makes the audience compare it to what they have and to what a blanket actually is. They have also used a very simple font which again is easy to read and keeps with the simple theme, it also adds to the effect of the adverts message. It really makes the audience think about what homeless people are living with and what they have to make do with, it shows that their lives are based around DIY and living with whatever they can find. The colours used in this advert are very dark and boring, it consist of the colours white and grey which reflect the life of a homeless person which is very plain and boring, the colour grey can also resemble sadness and depression which can also represent a homeless persons life, the only brighter colour they have used on this advert is red which is used on the charity logo, this may be a bad choice for this charity because it is a colour that is usually associated with danger but it also stand out on the advert so that the audience know what the advert is trying to promote without having to read a lot of information. The whole advert has a very clear and direct message although it doesn’t ask you to donate but it does make you want to and makes you want to learn more information, that is why they have included the name of the charity at the bottom of the image so that people can find out moreinformation.

This advert is very different when compared to the first advert, this one is from the same charity but it has more information on it and is a lot more detailed, in some ways this is good because the audience are given a lot of information about the charity but in some aspects it is not a good thing because it looks too messy and busy and people who are passing this advert in the street will not stop to look at it and read it because there is too much writing. The main message of the advert is also in a small text so it is not easy and quick to read.

They have used the same font with both adverts which I think is good because it is consistent and simple, it also helps the audience to recognise what the advert is promoting without having to read it, the font is very effective because it draws attention to itself but at the same time it is not too wild, I also think they have chosen this font because the advert is based on a serious matter. The image is the main part of this advert and I think that is why they have decided to make it appeal to the target audience by choosing a photograph that will manipulate the audiences emotions, children are vulnerable and need care so that they are safe, making the child on this advert look sad and in danger will encourage the audience to help, also the child is the only image on the advert to ensure that the audience see that first. The colours are very bright and eve catching and show a sense of danger which again could link to the child and the audiences emotions, this colour is also the colour of the charity logo which helps with recognition.

This is the promotion logo from the youth homelessness charity called SASH which I think is a very effective logo and works well with the adverts and products I have seen them produce.First of all t6he image they have used is an illustration of a house which gives the audience the message that it is promoting something to do with houses, homes or shelter, this is a very simple design of a house but works well as a logo because it is simple and very easy to recognize, also it makes the logo look cleaner by getting rid of all the detail that you would usually find on a house. The font is the main thing that the audience will need to see to understand what the logo is based on, this is why they have used a bold font and they have also kept it simple to ensure that it Is easy for the audience to read and so that it is also quick to read, the text gives the message quite clearly and tells the audience what it is promoting with just a few words. Finally the colour of the logo is very well thought out too, they have made it a bright green and I think they have done this for a number of reasons, the first reason being that it is a bright colour to attract the attention of the target audience and also because it is a friendly colour which links with the friendly characteristics that all homeless charities should have. Green can also be linked with happiness or a new start which is also what the charity is based on.

This is the logo that SASH charity used before changing it to the more friendly grren logo that they currently use, I don’t think this is a good logo mainly because of the colour, red symbolises stop or danger which is not the message that the charity are trying to convey to their target audience or the public. The graphics used on this logo are well thought out because it shows an illustration that looks like a sun behind the writing which symbolises dawn or a new day like a new start which is one of the main aims of the charity is to help homeless young people start fresh. The font used for this logo is also very different from their current logo as it is a little more aimed at the younger people in the target audience because it is quit stylish and different from most fonts, the current logo uses a simple and modern font which I think works best because the target audience want to feel as if they are being treated like adults.Again the colour of this logo is bad because of what the colour represents, it I not a very friendly and inviting colour unlike the bright green. Red also represents stopping rather than go like the green represents.
