9am 2pmThe Green Heart Fair is Brisbanes largest free community event, promoting innovative green living in a free, fun, family-friendly

environment. Two Green Heart Fairs are held each year to educate and engage Brisbane residents on leading a more sustainable

lifestyle through smarter energy use, rethinking waste, being water smart, cleaner transport alternatives, helping to protect Brisbanes

native plants and animals and encouraging sustainable food choices. This growing community event is organised by CitySmart on behalf

of Brisbane City Council and Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, in line with the Lord Mayor's vision of creating a clean, green city.

The second Green Heart Fair for 2014 is

Sunday October 12 at Carindale Recreation Reserve, Carindale.

WHO COMES ALONG?Each Green Heart Fair attracts between 10,000 - 15,000 Brisbane residents

who are engaged and interested in reducing their environmental footprint:

Families with children, couples and single person households

Home-owners, mortgage holders and renters

They live in houses, townhouses and apartments

Catchment extends across the wide Brisbane community, attracting visitors

from far beyond the immediate neighbouring suburbs

EXCITING & ENGAGING PROGAM

We make sure there is something for everyone to appeal to and attract the

broad spectrum of the local community and the June line-up so far includes:

Over 40 sustainability exhibitors including a large Brisbane City Council display featuring green living programs and initiatives

Family fun bike ride to the event with a free breakfast for all riders

3000 free native plants to give away

Sustainable cooking demonstrations

Informative interactive discussions with local garden experts

All day entertainment and live music on the main stage by Peppa Pig and local Brisbane bands

All day kids hub featuring dirtgirlworldactivity centre, planting herbs and veggies with live

appearances, rock climbing, face painting, Australian wildlife, eco-entertainment, obstacle course, drumming and musical instrument

groups, reverse garbage workshops

Queensland Reds Rookies2Reds give-aways and meet some of the players Brisbane Roar soccer rapid field with a visit from Roary the team mascot

STRICT SUSTAINABILITY GUIDELINES

The Green Heart Fair is a low impact event. We aim to minimise the environmental footprint of each and every event and we ask that you respect and

adopt our aims and values. We also actively measure our sustainability achievementsincluding reductions in waste, water and energy consumption

through the Sustainable Events Management System. Due to the ethos of the Fair, priority will be given to the participants who best represent these

environmental values and aspirations. CitySmart reserves the right to select participants accordingly.

Please note: penalties will apply to vendors who do not comply with the above sustainability guidelines. Please contact us for advice if you areunsure.

INSURANCE DETAILS

Brisbane Green Heart CitySmart Pty Ltd expressly excludes liability for any claims for damages arising out of the negligence of stallholders.If stallholders are employing persons to work at their stall, a copy of a current Work Cover policy must be provided. Brisbane Green Heart

CitySmart Pty Ltd or its insurers, in any circumstances for negligence claims, will extend no indemnity to stallholders. Stallholders must

obtain their own Individual Public Liability Insurance. Exhibitors participate at their own risk. The onus is upon participants to have

appropriate licences and comply with Health and Safety Regulations.
