hroughout modern history the wristwatch has become a symbol that defines the wearer. Watches are more than just a simple way Tto keep track of the time of day, they are a statement that you

make to the world about what sort of man you are in reality. Since men do not traditionally wear as much jewelry as women, it is especially important to make sure that the watch you choose is sending out the right message to everyone around you. When you choose a watch you are choosing an extension of your identity, so it important to carefully consider what watch will convey your style and personality. To help you select the perfect watch we've sifted through the brands to give you an idea of what general personality characteristics these brands are associated with, but it is up to you to pick out the exact style you want from these brands. Let's take a look at what sort of fashion statement men are making by wearing certain watches. If you see a man wearing a Timex watch you can tell that he has chosen it for its classic look. Timex is an old American brand that gives off the impression that you are cultured and you don't throw your money around. A man wearing a Timex is often dressed well, but not in fancy clothing, he gives off a reliable look that can be very attractive to certain types of people.A man who wears a Casio around on a day-to-day basis can go one of two ways. He either leads a very active lifestyle which could require a durable wristwatch on short notice, or he more practical and cares less about the fashion statement he is making and more about the idea of telling time accurately. The Casio G-shock line is another ambiguous watch that some men choose to wear. A large gaudy face can be a display of status among some younger crowds, but paired with a suit shows a lack of fashion senseThe classic Rolex is a polarizing time piece. Since everyone knows that Rolex watches can be very expensive, the fashion statement they give off comes down to more subtle factors such as how the man wears and advertises his watch. A Rolex can be a very impressive fashion statement if the man wearing it doesn't feel the need to show it off to everyone that he meets. A strong silent type will come off as very attractive with this watch on his

wrist by underplaying how much it means to him. A Rolex, however, can be a bit of a fashion faux pas if worn with the attitude that you should want to show it off to anyone who you encounter. This is especially obnoxious in an era where people have easy access to the time due to smart phones. This type of behavior can turn a classy watch into an undesirable piece by making a man reminiscent of a used car salesman trying to hide something behind a shiny exterior. An IWC wristwatch is a very classic, rugged, and dependable piece to complement the outfit of someone who wants to sport a more traditional look. The IWC wristwatch can be dressed either up or down depending on the environment that you are going to be in, so it really is a watch for all occasions. This is a great all around watch in order to create a positive fashion statement for yourself, but you don't want to need to think if your match watches every time you change outfits. Each brand of watch will be the right pick for a different personality type, but you just need to take time to consider what exactly you need in a watch. Some men will look best in a Casio while others were born to wear a Rolex. Something to keep in mind when picking out a watch however is the audience who will see you wearing it. Are you trying to impress customers, a date, family or just want to know the time when you are scuba diving? Sometimes the most complicated watches have very simple looking exteriors. Most people would not appreciate the value of such a watch, but in a certain crowd it could be quite the conversation piece. In order to ensure that you are making the fashion statement of your choice take some time to consider the image that you want to cultivate for yourself. Once you have a solid idea of who you want to be, choose a watch that fits that persona well and gives off the right impression. The right watch can pull an entire outfit together. Let your wristwatch make your defining statement for you.

uys, guys, guys. Listen, it is bad enough you've been reduced to driving a mini-van, changing diapers and Gmaking baby noises. We get it. You're a dad. You've

sowed and reaped your seed, there isn't much more for you to prove. Now what is even worse is that you are a father, and this whole parenting thing takes up a lot of your free free time. Obviously both genders are guilty of lowering their personal grooming when the baby comes around, but it shouldn't stay this way permanently. Once the first year of sleepless nights is over, it is time to re-join adulthood. Perhaps even before that. My reasoning for this is simple: we are supposed to be setting an example for the kids. If you show your kids life is over after they procreate when they are children, imagine if that is how they live their lives when they grow-up. Depressing? Huh?The real kicker is when we let our physical appearance slip, so does our general confidence and happiness. Kids pick up very easily on their parents' mood. Ultimately if you are unhappy this will affect them and not in a good way. It is good to focus a lot of energy on parenting, but we still have to hold onto our adulthood to make us happy to. Part of a responsibility is to maintain our own personal happiness. So here are five very easy ways that you can look less like a hobo and more like a father. As a bonus, if you are with the baby mama or with another lady they will enjoy seeing you get all cleaned up. You're welcome.

1. Just say no to sweat pants outside of the houseIf you are not working out, sick, working outside or lounging around the house sweat pants are not appropriate everyday attire. Sweat pants look tacky no matter where you get them from, and it makes you look like you've given up all hope of ever looking like a respectable adult again. They also allow you to put on extra pounds easily without ever notice. I don't believe I tell grown men this, but put on some freaking pants!2. No holesHoles in pants, shirts, socks or in any item of clothing is a sure sign it is time to retire it. I don't care if jeans with holes in the knees are popular for young kids, you are an adult now. Besides how are you going to tell your kids not to wear clothes with holes in them if you do it all of the time yourself? Trust me, if you are past your late twenties holes in clothes just make you look like that creepy old guy that is too afraid to let go of his youth and embrace his real age, and that isn't a flattering look on anyone.

3. The beardSome guys look really great in beards. It is even fashionable with the younger crowd right now. Honestly though, some of you just look like you just stepped out of shack in the middle of nowhere Others of you just can't grow a beard, and it is time to accept that as an inevitable fact. There is nothing worse than a patchy and pathetic beard on any male face. If you look like one of these people, it is time to either maintain it or shave it off.4. Shoes besides sneakersYou should own at least one pair of shoes that isn't a pair of sneakers, flip-flops, or reserved for funerals and weddings. You could even go wild and own two pairs of shoes that aren't casual! There are lots of comfortable, casual options out there for guys. If you don't want to spend that much just shop for sales, or you can ask your wife, girlfriend or mother too. In fact, you can even shop for shoes without going anywhere thanks to the internet. 5. T-shirts that say stupid things on themOkay, we all get it, you are a guy with a sense of humor. You are also a grown man though, so you may need to mature your t-shirt collection a little bit as you age. Wearing t-shirts with funny jokes on them some of the time is okay, and your kids may even enjoy that their dad is a goof. However, t-shirts with dumb stuff on them should not pre-dominate your wardrobe unless you want to look like a joke all of the time. Try investing in some shirts with no jokes and no logos on them, so we can focus on you, not what your shirt says. 6. Own more than one dress shirtWe guys got it easy when it comes to fashion. A button-up shirt is considered more than acceptable to most events. Make sure that you own more than one button-up shirt. Also, try to wear it more than once or twice a year. A little bit of variety in butt-up shirts goes a long way in making you look like you dress up at least some of the time. It also allows you to change colors to match the weather. You should at the very least have one long sleeve and one short sleeve button-up shirt. Trust me, wearing a black button-up shirt during a hot, summer day is not a comfortable experience, but it also makes you look bad.

7. A watchWith the invention of smart phones no one actually needs a watch, but it still is a classic accessory that can be fashionable. I'm not talking about an ugly sports watch, but a classic design that looks a bit spiffy. As a bonus, you won't have to check your smart phone every time you need to check the time, and checking the time is something that happens a lot more often when you are a father. You can wear it all of the time without thinking about it, and it looks like you are a classy guy (even if anything could be further from the truth)

verything has to match, wearing a statement piece and buying jewels before Ethe dress are just some of the most

common mistakes brides make when picking out their wedding accessories.

Desp i te hav ing mult ip le foca l po ints throughout the day, from the dress and colour scheme to the location and menu, many brides underestimate the power of accessories and the dangers of getting it wrong.

1. Upstaging the dressNo matter what theme or style you go for, remember to never upstage the dress. In years to come the question on people's lips will be "what was your dress like?" not "what was your jewellery like?" so make sure the jewels play a supporting role and don't take centre stage.

2. Buying accessories before the dressBuying the jewellery before the dress is a risky business. For many brides, the dress they end up choosing is often completely different from the one they thought they'd wear, so buying accessories - whether shoes, tiaras or jewellery - before you know the style of your dress could leave you with an overall image that looks incomplete.

3. Not considering coloured accessoriesDon't rule out coloured accessories. Adding a pop of colour with jewellery is a subtle way to liven up a classic neutral colour scheme. Alternatively, if you have a themed wedding, accessories are the perfect way to continue that theme throughout.

Got Any Question OR comment?Email: [email protected]

4. Forgetting about what suits your skin toneDifferent skin tones lend themselves to either gold or silver jewellery and if you're not sure then ask for some advice. The same rule applies if opting for a coloured stone, depending if you have a fair complexion or olive skin for example, find out which colours suit you best and stick to them.

5. As if one isn't enoughPick gold or silver - not both! This may seem obvious, but we have seen this fashion faux pas happen on a number of occasions. Most brides have a colour scheme of choice and opting for gold and silver jewellery on top of that can make things look a little messy.

6. Buying trendy accessoriesThe wedding album will always be pulled out in future. With this in mind, you want to make sure that your choices aren't too trendy or your photos will look dated really quickly. Opt for timeless classics

instead and your bridal style will always look fashionable and glamorous.

7. Having everything matching

Not everything has to match - the key thing to remember is that this is your day and you need to bring your own flare. Brides often get given jewellery by family members to wear on the day and this should be embraced but finding accessories to match can be difficult particularly if it is an old family heirloom.

8. Forgetting that sometimes less is more

Sometimes less is more and it isn't always necessary to have a tiara, veil, necklace, earrings, bracelets and a bag - not to mention the must-have flowers, dress, shoes and ring! Pick the right amount of accessories and don't go overboard. Be sure to try them all on together before the big day and don't be afraid to scale back.

9. Getting carried away with the price tag

Buying accessories that break the bank just isn't necessary. Shop around before you make your final decision and you're bound to find something in your price range. There is sometimes little difference between what jewellers call "wedding jewellery" and their other items, apart from the price so don't feel pressured into buying wedding collections; the normal jewellery sets can be just as glamorous.

10. Not thinking beyond the wedding day

Let's face it, you are unlikely to wear your wedding dress or shoes after the big day, but why not choose jewellery that will look just as good afterwards? Choosing jewellery that is versatile will ensure that you use it again and make the most of your budget.
