Executive Director of Cycling British Columbia Vancouver, British Columbia Cycling BC is the largest cycling sanctioning body in British Columbia, covering road, track, mountain biking, cyclo-cross, BMX and para-cycling. Cycling BC is a community membership based organization with over 5500 members currently. As the new Executive Director, you will continue to build on the organization’s successes. You are a visionary who has a track record in managing and growing an organization. You are able to identify needs and opportunities in the community through engagement, and collaboratively with the board build plans to bring these opportunities to fruition. You are an effective communicator who provides regular reporting to stakeholders. As a public organization, you understand the need for transparency and the public implications of your and the organization’s actions. You are comfortable speaking in public with vision and passion about the organization, and are able to create beneficial partnerships. Funding for any community organization is based on many sources, and you are adept in building beneficial relationships with different types of entities such as municipal, government, and corporate, and are able to bring mutual value to both the society and the partner. You demonstrate that funding is a partnership built on trust, and you do this through the prudent use of financial resources and provide regular updates on the use and benefits they have provided As the overall operations manager of the society, you know how to lead people. You naturally create systems and project plans for the effective delivery of services, programs and events. You are able to communicate these plans to stakeholders and hold them accountable. You are experienced in building a cohesive team where staff are developed through a collaborative process, through planning and opportunities for growth within the society. Working out of the office in Vancouver, you are in one of the most livable cities in the world with many recreational opportunities available to you.
