schools worldwide for executives, business leaders and functional managers. These programs are generally non-credit and non-degree-granting, but sometimes lead to certificates. Key players in university-based executive education span elite[, as well as many regional and mid-sized universities and business schools around the world.

• Customized programs, which are tailored for and offered to executives of a single company, represent the fastest growing segment of the market. Customized programs help organizations increase management capability by combining the science of business and performance management into specialized programs that enable executives to develop new knowledge, skills and attitudes. Knowledge translates into the capability an organization applies to the products and services it brings to the marketplace.

• Customized programs are in high demand as markets shift and organizations must develop and implement responsive business strategies.

Executive management v/s traditional MBA

• Many people are confused by the difference between an executive course and a traditional MBA degree. The confusion is understandable--an executive management course is an MBA. A student who attends an executive program will get an MBA education. The real difference lies in the delivery.

• Executive programs usually offer different schedules than traditional full-time MBA programs. For example, Executive students may take all day classes once each week. Or they may meet for classes on a bi-weekly basis. The class schedules in a traditional MBA program are less flexible.

• Other differences may include the services offered to students in an executive management program. Executive students are sometimes provided with special services that are not available to the school's MBA students.

• Services may include registration assistance, meal delivery, textbooks, and other helpful staples. Students in an executive program can also expect to complete the program with the same set of students (also known as cohorts.) MBA students, on the other hand, may have different classmates from year to year.
