MR ALLOMES It has been a pleasing start to the year with students quickly getting back into campus routines. I wish to congratulate Year 10 students and their Year Advisers, Mrs Lammert and Mr Houston who have led the transition from Umina to Woy Woy. The students have settled in well and are already showing the signs of an exceptional year group. The campus has had a number of staffing changes this year with Ms Cole transferring to Gosford HS, Mr Moxon transferring to the south coast and we had the retirements of Mr Spillane and Mrs Simms our Senior Administration Manager. I would like to welcome new staff for 2017:

Mr Lawler – Maths Mrs Smith – Head Teacher English We also have the following temporary staff

Ms Bosworth-Waite – Maths Ms Blue – Home Science Ms Heys- PDHPE Mrs Faulds – Industrial Technology Ms Elbra – PDHPE Mr Reynolds – IA Mr Fernley – Maths Ms Scott – HSIE Ms Beer – English Ms Reid - Heuser – English

A couple of reminders:

If you are wishing to take your child out of school for an extended period of time for things like family holidays or medical procedures it is important you notify the campus before the event by applying for Exemption leave. This form can be picked up from the administration office and needs to be returned with a letter explaining circumstance before the event.

Our canteen has always relied on voluntary assistance for it to operate. New volunteers are always welcome and I urge parents, if able to provide assistance to contact the canteen supervisor, Diane Williams to discuss how you could help our students.

Under work, health and safety policy all students must have the correct footwear to be able to undertake practical lessons. If students do not have the correct footwear theory work will be provided for them.

Finally I would like to congratulate the 2016 Year 12 cohort. This group were highly regarded by staff and HSC results were extremely strong with many outstanding individual results. Many of our students have gained entry to university (47 first round offers). Due to the unique and diverse range of opportunities the college is able to offer, many of our students have taken up apprenticeships, full time work and studying with other training providers in specialised vocational areas.
