1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I
have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 9:27 But like a boxer I buffet my body handle it
roughly, discipline it by hardships and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to
others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit not stand the
test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit.
It Take Discipline to Abide In the Ship!
When threats appear in our lives, we will default to humanistic
protection mode
What can that look like?AttackingDistancing
StrategizingNegative Thinking
None of which have Spiritual Benefits
Acts 27:31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except
these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
John 15:4-8 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine;
no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in
me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words
abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye
bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
John 15:4-8 Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. Live in Me,
and I will live in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in being vitally united to the vine, neither can you bear fruit
unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him
bears much abundant fruit. However, apart from Me cut off from vital union with Me you can do nothing. If a person does not dwell in Me, he is
thrown out like a broken-off branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned. If you live in Me
abide vitally united to Me and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.
When you bear produce much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove
yourselves to be true followers of Mine.
