Centro Costruzioni Group has consolidated experiences for the following

Stretch forming process This process is realized and tailored on customer requests. Centro Costruzioni Group has designed and realized “ad hoc” different plants, as well as, has defined the entire production process to supply erosion resistant helicopter blade leading edge shield in stainless steel, ready to be installed on several kind of rotary wing vehicles.
The manufacture hurdles are the following:
Extremely complex geometry either for the tolerance compliance in the transverse section different geometries (about 250mm and thickness from 0,3 to 0,8mm) and maximum length up to 6 meters (only one piece) and twisted for the perfect matching with the blade of mail rotor head and tail swashplate mechanisms made by carbon fibres.
The employment of high volume capacity machineries to obtain the drawing final finishing with strictly tolerance respect in relationship with the high dimension of the erosion resistant blades and with respect to the tolerance value of component final weight.
The advantages of the only one piece leading edge use are the costs reduction, the easier installation and the blade stability due to the joining elements shortage. Validation and set up of process limits are made by FEA (PAM-STAM CAD).
Rotor Head Swashplate, Rotaring Plates and Mechanisms
For the manufacturing of these criticality top level elements, made by Titanium, Tungsten, Stainless Steels and Aluminium Alloys, Centro Costruzioni Group applied high speed chip machining technics, with optimization of the production process targeting the following results: - Minimum Lead time - Reduced costs - Optimization of raw material - Dimensional precision machining - Product quality (100% dimensional control – 100% fluorescent and/or magnetic NDI)
Rotor Head Tension Link
Centro Costruzioni Group is highly specialized for the this critical components manufacturing. The product required an optimized machining approach, due to the manufacturing criticalities related to the used materials like Kevlar, glass and carbon fibers, stainless steels and titanium, that has been reached with an examplary desing of the machining steps and tools required. The result is the machining process steps made by only one CNC equipment with a single placement of the components. The main characteristic are the following: - Production speed - Precision. - Quality. - Optimization of costs and lead time. - Epoxidic structural bonding - Painting. - Product "keys in hand”.
NDI Activities VM Company is mainly working on composites and metal-composite components.
It has very good experience in inspection of components for helicopter rotors ( rotor head swashplate mechanisms, leverage, tension link and mechanisms) and blades (principal and tail rotor blades).
Asbestos removal components in the vehicles
Heliworl is specialized in the removal and replacement of the components containing asbestos. This activity has been developed for several helicopter types and models. Environmental authority register: category 10A - 10B N° 2 restricted Hub with total surface of 260 m2 N° 7 qualified technician, one doctor, one technical manager and one buildingsite responsible .
Bladders Aviorec has developed an innovative product respect to the current bladders available on the market. Applying a new extrusion technology combined with cold moulding the bladders performances and durability has been increased and, in the meantime, the production costs has been meaningfully reduced. These new bladders also solved some cycling problems in the manufacturing of the composites stringerized co-cured panels.

• Erosion Resistant Helicopter Blade manufactured in thin stainless steel sheets by Stretch Forming Process: supplier for the main worldwide helicopter producers. The plant and the stretch process has been designed and developed by Centro Costruzioni Engineering Dpt.

Heli World a joint venture company born from an initiative of Centro Costruzioni Srl and VM Srl, two companies members of the same company group. Heli World is specialized in MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhault) activity on rotary wing vehicles, not only for the airframe, but diversifying the business on an enthusiastic segment such as the rotary wing sector to include machining (Milling and Turning) of helicopter parts.
