Selecting Data to Chart From your Sales Data - Select A4 through H4 - Hold Down (ctrl) - Select A8 through H8

Replace the default title in the Chart Title text box with ‘1999 First Term Sales Data’

In the Category(X) Axis text box enters Months and in the Value(Y) Axis text box enter Costs

Moving and Sizing a Chart

You can resize the chart by pointing to the handles of the chart and dragging to object right-left-up-down.

Changing the Type of Chart

Right click on the chart Choose Chart Type

Moving the Legend

Legend Box

Legend box is surrounded by selection handles, this means it will be affected by any changes you make

To identify the objects within the Legend group, point to each line in the legend to see Screen Tip

To modify the legends: Right click on Legend Box Choose Format Legend

Choose Bottom Click OK

Formatting Chart

Right click on the object Choose Format Chart Area

Select desired fill color Click Fill Effects

Choose Pattern Change the Foreground to black From the Patten palette, select a

pattern of your choice Click OK twice

Adding Text Box and Arrows

Click Drawing Click Text Box Move your mouse pointer to

desired place and left click on it

Right click on the Text box Choose Edit Text Write “Monthly sales” Resize the text box if necessary via

its handles

Adding Arrows to Chart

Click Arrow To draw the arrow, click on the left

edge of the text box and drag it to JUN

Creating Pie Charts

From the worksheet, choose Expense data

Click Chart From Chart Type choose Pie Press Next Change the Chart title to

EXPENSES

From Data Labels Choose “Show label and percent” Click next Click Finish

USING the IF Function

SYMBOL MEANING = Equal to < Less Than > Greater Than <= Less than or equal to >= Greater than or equal to <> Not Equal to NOT Logical NOT OR Logical OR AND Logical AND

Add a Status column to our worksheet to I4

Status column will modify I6 and I7 It will compare each of H6 and H7

values with H8. IF any of the values is smaller then

50% of H8 then it will get OK , otherwise NOT OK

First we must enter the formula to calculate Status value

Move to I6 Click Paste Function Select IF Click OK
