An Introduction to Excel Spreadsheets
This is the standard look of a new spreadsheet when opened for the first time

Note: Excel by default starts a Workbookwith three Worksheets.
Sheet Tabs
Two Vertical Lines make a Column which isdenoted by letters of the alphabet

Two Horizontal Lines make a Row which isdenoted by numbers

A Column & a Row together make a Cell. TheCell Address is Column then Row e.g. D12
Note: Another name for Cell Address isCell Reference

To add the contents of cells B8 and C8, weuse a Formula as shown in cell D12.
Note: A formula is always started with the“=“ sign and typed where the result is required

You can use the Fill Handle to create or extend aSeries such as the Days of the Week.

Click on Row 17 to highlight theentire row. Right click & clickDelete. The Blank Row is gone!

Highlight the range A16 to J17using the mouse. Click on theChart Wizard.
