Conference Program

Karol Boudreaux is a lawyer and land tenure and resource rights expert with two decades of experience as a researcher and development practitioner. Throughout her career she has supported improvements to the land tenure and resource rights of people and communities around the world, with a strong focus on women's land rights and sub-Saharan AfAfrica. Her research concentrates on analyses of property and land tenure systems, land and conict and responsible land-based investment.

Keynote Speaker

The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) developed in June 2011 have provided a road map for how businesses can address and implement human rights issues. How have businesses dened and honored human rights? What actions have they taken to comply with standards and prevent violations of human rights, both locally and globally? What are some models and practices that can inspire other businesses to incorporate human rights? How do rms and states move beyond mere state mandated regulations and compliance to ensure that human rights are part of the corporate DNA? The halfhalf-day conference seeks to reect on, discuss, and debate these issues through two panel sessions and a keynote speech.
