It used to be very difficult for students to revise for GCSE maths; however the Maths department have recorded 243 revision clips. They explain every single topic
at grades A*to G. Because Maths can only really be learnt by ‘doing it’, each clip contains questions for student to have a go at – there are then worked answers for
them to check. Students can access the clips by DVD or by logging on to www.mathswatchvle.com and using the details which they have already been given. In addition students have been given a six week revision schedule which, day by
day, guides them through which clips to watch and do.
How can parents help?
Method 1 (draconian): Sit with them each evening and watch them go through the revision clips as outlined on the schedule. In particular, ensure they really do have
a go at the questions. Method 2 (more practical): Support them, feed them, encourage them, be gently curious about how they are getting on.
