Research for Flash Professional and Unity Michael Bandy Flash Professional: The first media as the base for my game was for Flash. My aim was to find out what I can do with flash and what pros and cons there was to using flash to make my game. While using flash I found that it will allow me to make 2D games with full function movements and sounds or an interactive book or multiple choice stories. Over this entire media is good for making quick and easy games but they are not triple A games, but flash can also allow the user to make small and easy to store games on you computer. Below are a list of pros and cons of using flash. Pros Vector-based but also allows the use of bitmaps. Supports audio, animation, and advanced interactivity. Easy to learn but difficult to master the more advance function. Works well with the internet and other programmes. Has good bandwidth efficient. It use by most people so you want have to download programmes to play the finished result. Large community of user for support on the programme.

Flash Professional:

Encourages designs abuse. Breaks web fundamentals. Distracts from the core of the design.

While flash has a lot of pros I am interested in using Unity as that will allow me to make a more realistic game as it more set towards making console style games.

Unity:

This media programme allows you to make games with a triple a grade of graphics. While the designer is able make 2D games using Unity, this programme shines when the user makes 3D games as all the tools and code for making these games are simple and easy to use and it easy to find information online for help in correct your mistakes. Below I am going to list the pros and cons of unity and why I have decided to use this for my project.

Pros:

Great for making games for web or mobile devices. It use C# and boo language for scripting. Unity has a store for you to buy or get pre-models for use in you games. It’s easy to use. Easy to programme on. Collision detection without mathematics.

Cons

Unfriendly User-Interface, and hard to learn for beginners. You have to know how to use action script.

This makes Unity the best programme for me to build my game on because it makes it easy for me to make effects and action without having to be a master at ActionScript or know how to create a ton of pre-made models to import onto the project.
