Green Lake Open Water Swim The Green Lake Open Water Swim is a great event for all outdoor swimming enthusiasts. A short 1/2 mile swim for beginners, 1 mile swim for intermediates and both swim races for those advanced competitive swimmers. Swimmers are encouraged to wear wetsuits, as Green Lake can be cold in June depending on spring weather. Register 3 weeks early for Early Bird Rates! Same day registration and check-in begins at 7:30am in the Community Center Gym where you will pick up your t-shirt, swim cap and enjoy some morning refreshments. Evans Pool locker rooms will be open to race participants only beginning at 8am to change and lock up your valuables. (Bring your own lock or use our quarter operated lockers) Shuttles will transport 1/2 mile swimmers to the west side of Green Lake beginning at 8am. Shuttle leaves when full. Last shuttle leaves at 8:50am. 1/2 mile race starts at 9:00am 1 mile race begins shortly after last 1/2 mile swimmer finishes Awards ceremony is 15 minutes after the 1 mile race is over. Age groups for awards are as follows: 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35- 39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 & better.
